I always click on support and its still the usual fast queue times for support and the other support never picks her.
Is she really THAT bad? I do find myself dying alot more thanks to no way to heal herself but also whenever a new hero drops players tend to target that hero when they see them more than others for various reasons.
But whats up i dont play that much. Whats wrong with the hero?
i think people are just finding her movement clunky, annoyed with the lack of self healing, or confused on how to use her properly
i saw venture as a popular dps pick for several days in a row; they were practically in every match even after the trial period was over and they got released into the real game
though dps is also more popular as a role so its likely that some of the juno testers could be tank or dps players that wanted to try her for a moment out of curiosity. definitely explains a lot of the dps juno mode players
Unrewarding is a better thing to say, but bad is also on the table.
She has no defense, her mobility is bad (yes it is), her utility is nice, but nothing big and her healing and damage are just ok. For that kind of kit you have have to think about EVERYTHING. I personally think you need to micromanage more than Weaver has to do, because you cant use any ability, without thinking first. “This is like every hero!”, no its not.
Speedring you have to think if you use it now, later, to engange, save it, if the teammates use it, how valuable it is, on what range it deploys, where its the best point etc
Torpedos you have to think, who will be in LoS for the next few seconds, cant heal during that, animation will take a second to put up and down, has to arm, let go on the right time, are enough teammates/enemies even there, is it usefull to use it has heal or damage, does it makes sense to use it, etc
Her weapon alone is, where do I have to stand, can I heal without falloff, where is my teammate going, should I go to them, where am I to far, back, am I too far in, where is the correct spot, am I hitting stuff.
It SOUNDS all so “easy”, but its quite stressful, and most Junos are just playing her like bots, resulting is a weak performance without much thought. She is not mechanically intensive, but has to micromanage everything like Weaver or Mercy, while having to play like Ana, with the fall off of Bap. Like… the worst parts of multiple heroes without the benefit of them.
I hope some people who played Juno for a while know what I am talking about. My brain goes fast like hell when I play Juno and I dont have time to turn around, because it messes up my “calculations”. Its crazy, for how little impact she provides…
I would say that every single other support is easier to play than Juno and has more impact.
Juno’s kinda in the Ana and Zen zone where yes, they need peel from their teammates, but in return they can make the enemy miserable if they have space to work. Unlike those two, however, she doesn’t have that killer app. Don’t get me wrong. Ring is really cool and useful and all, but not to the level where it’s worth bringing her along like Sleep/Bionade/Discord. Especially because she has only has bodyshot damage and that’s it. Ana can theoretically turn the tables on a ganker with cooldowns, Zen can theoretically murder a ganker with his damage, but Juno is most likely up the creek without a paddle.
On another note: it’ll change once teammates learn what Juno’s ultimate actually does, but for the time being I think Nano’s straight better than Orbital, too.
Add in the -25 HP nerf and it feels like more work for less reward.
I think what is happening is that players are intimidated by Juno’s abilities. Since she doesnt have any self-healing except for passive healing, she relies on her healer support and her own hyper-mobility for survival. I think some players are finding this challenging dynamic difficult.
Simply put, there are better options on the table and not enough reason to pick Juno, and that was before she ate the nerfs. If by chance there are no dive heroes on the enemy team she’s “ok”, otherwise it’ll be respawn sim for her.
Anything with decent mobility eats her like a Thanksgiving Turkey dinner out on the field. She still isn’t viable even with slight buffs. God bless this hero soul in the future
No this was very insightful. Im a Plat player in OW that somehow became silver in OW2 but ive been using her as an aggressive healer. I throw her ring out right out the door to get to where we need to go faster
I am nof afraid to go on offense and use flight to clip off near dead enemies. But i do have to switch off immediately if they have lile Sombra on their team.
Juno is a balanced character in a horribly imbalanced game unfortunately. That’s her biggest flaw.
She’s also a juicy little-lamb for Sombra and Tracer to eat up and get a headstart at their day. She is extremely fail and has to blow two cooldowns to have even a chance at escaping.
Juno just isn’t that good and lucio speed is superior & more consistent throughout a match. Juno has to use her speed very selfishly as well vs flankers. Juno will never beat lucio at his niche unless they throw insane buffs at her.
I think a few tweaks and she could be a fun and intensive hero, but right now she has a lot of drawbacks and skill checks without any impact to reward them.
People noticed that Juno requires a lot of tracking aim, and it’s not easy for most players. If Juno had McCree’s kinda gun people would be flocking to play her.
I understand… Tracking targets is work. It’s not click and get results.
People expected a low-skill fun support, but got a high-skill job assignment deal.
