Don't nerf Brig, just make her more skill-based

Now, I’m not sure how to do this. But she’s just too simple to pick up and dominate with. Usually the star-rating system is off, but Brig is truly a one-star hero.

Smaller hit boxes? I dunno. There must be some way to do it (and honestly, skilled players who actually enjoy mastering a hero and improving their game would appreciate this.)

We cannot seriously make any adjustments to her based off of Arcade/QP performance.

She is skill based. The micro management required on Brigitte is really high. Making sure you’re using Repair Pack to do 75 healing + 75 armor, bashing at the right time, always hitting Whip Shots, standing near teammates, protecting teammates with that barrier.

Her bash hitbox is obscenely large. No reason for it to be. I want it reduced cause you don’t even have to hit them with it for it to register.

Yet look at how many posts there are today.

The only thing I hate about Brigitte right now is the super short cooldown on her shield bash.

So your beef is just mechanics rather than the matter of game sense on when to do X-Y-Z to gain a successful push. Just make her mechanically more difficult for the sake of it.

Nah, I’ll focus on getting better with her with game sense and team work.

I mean, come on. Her offensive abilities are on 4 second cool downs, her shield regens very quickly, her primary fire involves just holding down a button, she has 250hp + insane armor, and an ultimate every other minute.

She’s one-star. Scratch that. She’s half-a-star.

God forbid a hero that’s easy to use be good…
God forbid a hero that just came out be good. :X

I only play arcade, but can say her being out has made me enjoy the game once again. Being able to counter a moira, genji and mccree is just perfect for those of us who only wanna play DM.

I don’t think she is. 4 abilities to all make use of and get the most out of requires a lot of foresight and thinking. Making the most use of them and knowing when you can/can’t poke to trigger Inspire.

God forbid you actually take the time to get good at something. How do you approach real life? I’m guessing you’re someone who never practiced, trained, improved, struggled.

I have an older brother in high masters where I’m in gold. I struggle just because of brotherly love; and always want to do better. But thanks to him, I can understand the game a lot better than most within my ELO. I play Lucio, Zenyatta, and Sombra. So, what’s this about struggling to be good?

Having problems with Brig? pick Pharah or Junkrat and make her a non-issue. If you’re playing McCree or Soldier76, just keep shooting her shield and eventually it will go down, don’t be scared of the fact she’s walking up to you with a shield, just blast its 600 health away and you’re good to shoot her in the face.

Reinhardt deals with her with minimal issue, Orisa can endlessly fire at her shield and by the time Brigitte has got up to her, just activate her Fortify and watch as she slowly tickles your health down, all while you headshot her because she’s stood right next to you.

There’s ways to deal with her with every character, others just require you to keep your distance more than others, even Roadhog can have issues with her if he doesn’t get a successful pull. People just need to give it a few weeks (or even wait for comp to start) before we can properly start judging.

Anyone who thinks she IS skilled based, please go play a round of DM as a 200hp hero you’re really, really good at.

You, a skilled veteran, will get your butt handed to you by kids who are playing a hero for the first time.

God forbid there are characters that are mechanically easier to pick up but require the mindset and gamesense of both tank and support player in order to do really well with.

Same can be said for half the cast honestly.

Stop. This whole “Make them more skill based!” argument is stupid. She already doesn’t actually do that much. The only reason she feels prominent now is because she’s new and nobody knows what to do.

Making them more “skill based” doesn’t mean anything more than “nerf them so I have an easier time stepping on them and don’t have to learn how to fight them”

You’re not understanding what I’m saying. There’s something wrong when a brand new, one-star hero can completely dominate 90% of the roster one-on-one.

Imagine you’ve played a hero for 2 years. You’re very, very skilled. Now imagine getting worked time and time again by a hero that’s been out for a day.

2 years > 1 day.

two years. one day.

Every new character is a overwatch 2.0 character it seems, I think they ran out of original ideas so they just have to make all the new ones godly

Again. You’re not hearing me. Making her more skill based makes her A) more satisfying to play (because you’ve EARNED IT when you do well with her) and B) doesn’t make it feel crappy when she beats you, because you were bested.

THIS IS THE SCATTERSHOT ARGUMENT.

This is why scattershot is getting removed from the game. It takes no skill to use, and is therefore NO FUN FOR EITHER COMBATANT.
