Having played a character does not make you understand game balance. Or in this case even CARE about balance.
The most irrational are not the ones we should look to for balance. They want the game unbalanced for their own personal benefit.
Just like you dont go to a homeopaths for medicine.
Most of their current viewers are there for Overwatch, it’s not simple at all, Overwatch made them what they are.
Dude, what logic? Most of the high ranked players agree on a big percentage of the issues, with ones being more vocal while others prefer to stay reserved.
Like of course I’m not gonna question a topic in which most of the top rated players agree on, because me, as a diamond, feel like it’s not that way.
Idk what type of entertainment you people watch, but me and my homies don’t find “balance of a hero” to be some juicy drama.
Like in what world do people actively wanna watch videos and streams with Brig called garbage!?
Also, I really do think that even if there are people with weird tastes in drama, saying controversial stuff would hurt you a lot more.
I don’t anyway I find overwatch absolutely boring to watch
I have to disagree.
Moira, Brig, Mercy, Torb, Sym, Hog, etc.
are simple by design so even players with bad mechanics are allowed to play the game.
hottake: Don’t Listen Too All Of Your Overwatch Forum And Reddit Platin Players.
90% of the time I agree with opinions from pros and content creators. I think you either need to one-trick a character and think one-dimensional or you are playing in gold/platin and just don’t understand the game the same way.
You act as if “Overwatch fans” is an exclusive group whenit isn’t. If you hop over to a similar game, people who are interested in both will stick around. There are also folks who are more interested in the personality than the game, hence why streamers who started on OW are still doing well long after leaving it. There’s also the fact that while you may lose some viewers who are only there for Overwatch, you’ll pick up viewers who are only there for the new game.
I suppose you’re right. It isn’t simple. Its a very complex set of intricate variables, so claiming “the Overwatch dude 100% MUST stay within Overwatch for the rest of their lives” is over simplifying it all to the extreme. Remember, folks like Stylosa didn’t even start out with Overwatch. They joined in to give it a try, and are sticking around because that’s where the money is for them. Once that starts to taper out beyond repair, they’ll hop to the next trend and use their personality and experience to build a new vierwership.
Why though?
If you have an actual reason, it should hold true regardless of who said it. When your only argument is “someone with a bigger arbitrary number said it so it must be true” then you’re literally not thinking for yourself, and are instead just assuming the other guy has your best interest at heart.
This is why I agree that it seems like a cult at times. Think for yourself. If your thought happens to align with what they say, good for you. But the blind faith argument is pathetic.
We’re talking about it now, aren’t we?
If I got money from responses, you would have just given me two bucks. So thanks for that.
Sure, you may say I’m just being stupid, but you still feel the urge to reply in some manner. Thats the sort of thing that keeps certain channels going.
Depends on the topic. If its polarizing enough, you can get a bunch of fans that agree with you, even if the other side hates you.
Besides, they say “any press is good press” for a reason. Even if you have folks who hate you sharing your video saying “look at how stupid this is!!!” Every share just gives you more exposure and helps you in the long run.
The trick isn’t to always tell the truth. Its to make the lies believeable.
And why is samito is the one being hated I don’t get it the hero is op she got 25 hp and started too kill the game again before I was playing a lot more overwatch but after her buff I was playing for an hour or 2 because it’s so boring too have your play making go away because some hero hit shift and healed all her team and she has an e that can heal more sorry that hero needs too be bad for the game too be good if you don’t like that don’t play the game
I’ll agree on that.
My argument is that they know the game better than any of us.
Sure I may not agree with a single individual saying one thing, and that’s that but if pretty much all of them say the same thing, with them being the elite of the game, that’s another story.
Balance is not a manner of “thinking for yourself”
We’re having an argument, we’re the 2 protagonists of it, we’re both engaged in it. Both of us bring well structured arguments, which is juicy by itself, it’s satisfying in a way.
In what universe do you compare this to someone watching videos with streamers calling brig trash!? As I’ve said above, what weird entertainment tastes can some1 have to actually come back to a channel for that?
We’re not talking about some topic like, idk, human rights, shape of the earth, feminism is right and so on, we’re talking about “brig is garbage”?
Who would even…? You get the point.
Yes it is.
There is no “objective way” to balance a game. What you may find enjoyable, others may dislike. The only thing we have to go off of is opinions here, and you’re literally refusing to form one for yourself and just assume others will speak for you in good faith.
Now, there is objective evidence that can be used to back up an opinion, but I still have yet to see any to back up the “pro opinion”. All I’ve seen is a lot of hate against her since before the buff even went live, a hate thats been well known about since GOATS (DeleteBrig ring a bell?), and then you’re trying to tell me they’re being fair here. They literally just do not want her around, and their say isn’t any more significant than someone who does want her around.
It doesn’t take a pro to understand the game, after all. Anyone can do it if they just pay attention. Putting them on a pedastul gives them a lot of power that they can easily abuse to get their way.
Balance is balance.
Enjoyable or not is about fun, which is not balance.
You basically balance around high ranks, that way the game is in the healthiest state.
? I have my opinions, everyone has, I’m just open minded to improving, I don’t want the game to be dumbed down for me.
She, quite literally, broke the game.
The powercreep fiesta we had a while ago was because of her, every dps except widow and Doom were buffed since her addition.
She is the biggest reason goats was a thing, and that meta was for almost a year, they were stuck in it more than anybody.
She basically has everything in her kit and everytime she is barely playable the game sucks.
Knowing all this, isn’t it natural to hate her?
You’re right, but it takes an top tier player to play the game at it’s full potential.
Dude, I see people complaining about Doomfist right now when he is actual garbage.
Yeah, everyone can do it IF they pay attention, but the “we are the 99%” squad refuses even to use the 360 degrees view that overwatch allows.
And as a forum user said, why do people think that they know the game better than the people who play it as their job, or the ones who stream it 8+ hours a day?
As surprising as this sounds, low rank players are 10 times as biased as the high ones.
Explain this.
Either you listen to content creators or you don’t, pick a damn side and stick to it.
Sure maybe medieval plague doctors. A lot of hot garbage balance changes that had lead to horrible balance in the game has come from pros and content creators. They don’t understand the game for the 99% of the community. They live in 1% fantasy land
There are a few angles I can get my orb into spots.
On King’s Row, I can get my orb from the start of street phase to the capture area pretty reliably.
Getting her orb to bounce to your destination isn’t always guaranteed though. It is really hard to hit the exact angle all the time.
