Don't despair fellow mercy mains

I know you are upset and impatient for blizzard to make mercy great again but don’t worry. I have experience dealing with what i’ll politely call “distracted” devs. I survived paladins OB64 and ill tell you how to get devs that don’t know what they are doing to wake up.

Post frequently but don’t spam

Offer constructive criticism

Be polite but also be firm and keep up the pressure

Post the facts about why mercy needs buffs, list points and specific reasons instead of using emotions.

Confront toxic players but dont be toxic yourself. I know mercy mains receive a lot of hate and bad treatment but getting angry and being mean only makes things worse. be calm and tell them we wont take that and to go away

Don’t use the megathread. It seems that blizzard does not read it so try to post outside of the megathread so there is a chance blizzard will read your posts.

it’s the drunk one from seven deadly sins post where you insulted blizzard employees

Mercy is definitely not in a bad spot atm. Maybe some of might not find her fun but being fun and being viable/effective aren’t the same thing.

As long as there’s not toxicity, I’d suggest keep posting outside of the megathread. At least until the thread ends up being moved to the megathread then there’s a glimmer of chance that a dev might just notice it and take the time to read it even if they don’t reply still. There’s also a possibility that moving Mercy threads every day might become tedious and realise that players who aren’t happy with Mercy will finally be addressed like they should’ve been a long time ago.

Those who say Mercy’s not in a bad spot, I’m certain many can agree her standard kit is ‘okay’, but it’s her ultimate which isn’t ‘okay’. That’s what many want addressed. A statistical analysis done by someone on the forum recently highlighted that not using the ultimate is more likely to allow you to win slightly more.

There’s no real point in posting directly to the megathread as it’ll just get lost among the over thousands of posts already there, and there’s no way a human being can read all that many posts without spending days there.

AS a Bastion main after the Ironclad nerf good luck keeping your chins up. it may take you longer than Bastion mains in getting changes, and we are still waiting.

I don’t think the devs are too “ distracted “ I think they are just done with Mercy. She’s proven in statistics that she’s still good and much used. Maybe that’s just because she has die hard mains and OT messing up that “still used” statistic but that’s what the devs see.

the rework failed the intended rework reason

“we dont like hide and rez”

now mercy NEEDS to hide to rez. At all times.

And if an ability is so strong it needs to be clipped so much, newsflash, its actually an ult.

Mercy could have used some work ,as did massrez, but the end result is much poorer for it then before.

it’s annoying to see no engagmant,no aknowledgement from the devs.

The last direct feedback i think we had about mercy was in a genji thread on the old forums. As far as i know with ALL the megathreads combined they answered maybe ONCE in one of them, and then only to say ’ we are totally reading guys!"

I want to EARN a good rez,not get it for free

Hardly proven, unless you solely go by numbers and not feedback. Numbers don’t tell if someone’s necessarily enjoying Mercy for example. Many may just be playing Mercy because they simply love the hero no matter what and have already spent a good amount of time playing Mercy. Some may be fine with her standard kit and so still playing Mercy, even while her ultimate is down the toilet at the moment.

There’s no denying that her main kit is reasonably fine, but her ultimate is definitely far from fine right now and that’s what much of the feedback that keeps being hidden away on the forum megathread is about. There was even a statistical analysis done by someone recently that apparently highlights that you’re better off not using the ultimate (slightly more likely to win in other words) than if you use it often.

To those who say “play another hero” pretty much, the same argument could be re-worded, “play another game”. There are other games out there now which actually in my opinion are now exceeding Overwatch in terms of community support and assurance as well as development plans and decisions. I’m not going to name the titles as that might cause me problems however.

Again, her standard kit may be ‘finely tuned’ some might put it, but her ultimate is what many are up in arms about. Or would those prefer it if players don’t consider that she has an ultimate ability (that’s effectively not an ultimate ability)?

I don’t think anyone thinks that she’s not good enough, at least I hope they don’t.

She’s balanced, but for a lot of people she’s not playable. She’s not bad, she’s boring as heck. She just stopped being fun, and fun factor is important in a game.

It’s completely subjective, but I’d like to think that most people can understand that it’d suck to have the character you main changed to something you dislike, and then nerfed into the ground for balance. It’d be like removing Tracer’s blink and having her go really fast instead.

And some of those nerfs just seemed over the top, too. I get not giving a rez during ult or having a wait time during rez, even while ulting, but both at the same time? That just felt extreme, imo.

So the point is, as a Mercy main, she’s good enough, but I’d literally rather play any other character. I still kind of main her, but trust me, I’m trying not to.

It’s an Esport, everything is meant to be as balanced as possible without much of a care for opinions, I know it’s a fairly popular opinion, but have you ever considered that you play her too much? She’s in a good place, I actually enjoy playing her still, but I don’t play her every single game either. Maybe it’s time to branch out and enjoy other supports guys. Have a nice day though no hate intended <3

This basically sums it up.

Mercy is currently finely tuned, thus no futher adjustments will be taken into action.

The argument of ‘‘Mercy is no longer fun to play’’ won’t justify a rework of any kind. At least not as soon as we might suspect.

So please, quit exaggerating with these posts and be patient.

By the way, don’t take this as a form of insultment. Just making a clear point here. :slightly_smiling_face:

I think you missed the point. It wasn’t about hide and rez. Jeff said so himself. They didn’t like the idea of a healer to stop healing, telling the team to go die on point just to rez them back. It wasn’t about hide and rez. It was about not being in the fight and healing your team. Mercy players (not all) just stopped healing and went away. Just to fly in and be rewarded for letting the team die.

She has been reworked because “hide and seek” wasn’t fun. So why now this argument isn’t good enough to justify a rework ?

Can you really be so biased ? xD

Mercy now is FORCED to hide where it was a minority that was hiding before this all mess started.

Mercy is a dynamic healer, flying dashing everywhere. BUT is forced to stand by for 2 seconds doing nothing except asking for shots… How is that supposed to be “fun” ? In what world having to stun ourself is a fun mechanic ?

Before, Mercy had to work to gain her rez ability. Now it’s press E - wait.

Hoooooo what a great rework guys !!! Phew !

I never really found mercy engaging my favorite support is Ana.

Her ultimate isn’t the biggest one but she’s balanced. Valk isn’t as bad as people make it out to be. Dry fights the ult is perfect for and it works well when it needs to. Valk could use a little more umph if Mercy mains want to feel more impactful I guess.

Mass Rez isn’t coming back but I’d love to see what new ideas Mercy mains can come up with for Valkyrie I read this one thread that it talked about a purple beam that gave both healing and damage and it’s a dang good idea.

Don’t listen to me though I’m Old

They really showed that in a funny way. It takes forever to rez someone now, and I always feel completely out of the game when I have to go rez a tank that’s down lol

Mercy can’t heal when she rez. So you and the devs must have miss a BIG point haven’t you?

And any close range healer have to run away from ults in a teamfight. Because, you know, a dead healer don’t heal…

Now the “go and die” mecanic was present from release and then they suddenly didn’t like it ? Oh com’on !

It’s also pretty frustrating that you can’t continue healing or damage boosting a nearby teammate for those two seconds while resurrecting. Definitely far from engaging :frowning:.

‘die on point’ jeez, are we there again?

hide and rez was largely a myth. Every mercy NEEDS to hide if there are ults flying off,you cant catch them with your face.

Hide and rez largely refers to people activly hiding and not healing on purpose to abuse the SR system. And this was not common enough to warrant this change.

“die on point " is also a false interpretation.
Mercy when dying with rez, would come back from spawn, and say 'die on point”

this did NOT mean : “please die”
this meant :" IF you are going to die please do it together in the same general area ,preferably on the point since we are in overtime and need to contest."

Mass rez was range based ,you needed to die close together or miss allies that would not get rezzed because they died too far away.
Its only logical. 'die on point" is a shorthand that was used to communicate all that in a simple way, every decent mercy player KNOWS this. It’s a myth that most mercy mains would ask people to die to get a nice rez.
I often had games where i did not even need to use rez once,it was insurance.
But now since its free, you need to use it as much as possible to maximize value.

Reworked because it not fun to play against. Not to forget to mention that she’s more balanced than ever. A revert or a rework once again would be unwise.

???

The rework was intended to allow Mercy to be more engaged in team fights. A lot more mobile and swift, which was established after the rework. The pervious state of Mercy deprived that substantial factor.

The cast time was essentially implemented mainly for a window for counterplay. Enforcing you to stop being so brain dead.

You sure as hell vague of Mercy’s current situation.
