Don't buy ow on ps4

As the title says here are the reasons NOT to buy overwatch on ps4.

  1. Smurfs. The fact that people can make smurfs for FREE is fine. but the fact that people make so many smurfs and throw on them is insane.

  2. Broken matchmaking.
For me, the matchmaking has been the worse i’ve ever seen recently. I was playing on my other account in high diamond and we had a BRONZE player on our team, screaming down the team chat.
And in qp, i get put against top 500’s constantly.

  3. fps drops.
Don’t even get me started on the fps. On my standard ps4 the game supposedly runs at 60FPS, which it does not. Any map, constant frame drops.

  4. Toxic community.
I don’t know about you but console overwatch is 900% more toxic than pc. Its a fact.

  5. Mouse and keyboard.
I don’t need to say much about this, if you’ve played console overwatch at a high level you would know about this.

I’m moving onto to pc. Thanks for reading.

Can confirm.

  1. The fact that people can make smurfs for free makes the entire reporting system useless. They don’t care about being reported because they’ll just switch to a different account if they get banned…
  2. Matchmaking is bad in general but it feels straight up nonexistent in the arcade. Trying to earn your weekly lootboxes is a rather awful experience.
  3. I haven’t had fps drops but I have loading issues pretty often.
  4. I haven’t touched comp since S7 because of the toxicity but other game modes aren’t completely free of it either. I’ve met people who went on voice chat to call us the C word in Play vs AI…

I would also advice not to buy this game on PS4. It’s not worth it. (I don’t know how different the PC version is but I’ve had enough bad experiencees with this game so I’m definitely not gonna support it by buying it again for another platform tbh.)

Totally wrong. Smurfs? Let them come I’ll crush them. I thirst for a challenge. Top 500 in QP? Let’s whose better. The community isn’t as toxic as PC. I can agree with you on FPS drop partially.

I have it on ps4 and I don’t experience problems with fps drops personally. There was maybe once in the open beta I lagged a little. I can agree with matchmaking a little bit, but I find that the games are still very winnable on my end. (its usually when the team makes one huge mistake that we lose Anyways) I also don’t really experience many toxic people at all myself. Usually no one talks anyways unless it’s comp. I don’t have much experience with the mouse and keyboard side of things because I never notice it.

This is just my experience though.

Matchmaking is broken on all platforms.

Why specifically PS4

It is basically the same on Xbox

I’ve got at least two dozen screenshots of the team comps where I’ve been placed in games with people, on average, 90+ levels above me. I’m almost always losing despite the Strategy I try or character I pick and I’m usually grouped with DPS kids.

Can we finally implement max # of classes? For instance, ONLY 2 DPS in any round and then nobody else can select DPS unless they switch off?

Same with healing and support.

I have it on PS4, seems perfectly fine for me…

IKR

It is absolutely fine

Level doesn’t matter, if you’re queuing with them it must mean their quickplay mmr is around the same as yours

Anyone saying PS4 is fine is crazy. Smurfs are an epidemic, and toxicity is rampant for this reason. The other things don’t bother me.

I made a similar thread last night:

i’ve never played xbox so i wouldn’t know.

oh ok

I play on ps4 but my cousin has an xbox so when I visit him I play on there and it is pretty much simillar

  1. Smurfs generally climb to their rank quickly.
  2. The same could be said for pc
  3. My game doesn’t drop fps
  4. Every platform is toxic.
  5. True. There’s not a lot of them, but every now and then, yes

  1. I can say that (although getting a smurf is insanely easy) I’ve risen to my rank range (high plat-low diamond) on my alt accounts fairly quickly. One of which I even use Hanzo most of the time and it’s 2800.
  2. Matchmaking has only been difficult when it’s then less-populated hours or its CTF (I was a diamond being paired with golds), besides that it’s been fairly consistent for me.
  3. I haven’t experienced any frame drops (ignoring the Sym 6v6s, I have serious trouble with those odd time passers).
  4. I can’t really argue against or for this. I’ve definitely experienced my fair share of toxicity but it isn’t such a huge thing so that I want to uninstall the game.
  5. Yes. 1000 times, yes.

i was more talking about people who are on their smurfs and who throw the game because they don’t care. top 500 smurfs i don’t care about.

Well that’s on all platforms and -although it’s definately easier to pull off on console- it’s still reportable, so while it may be worked around easily you should still do it. Because if they want to get a new account they’ll have to level up to 25 again, which took ages (in my experience). They might be discouraged by the time it’ll waste.

Then again, they are throwing for the fun of it, so…

It’s the same old sh*t
