Not until you actually fix the current heroes we have. Adding a hero that specifically fixes a problem isn’t actually fixing the problem, it only creates more problems.

Lack of tank and support heroes is one of Overwatch’s biggest problems, and new heroes are a way to balance the game.

You’re telling me that because they just added Brig, Sombra, Hammond, and everything else balanced the game?
I’d argue that the game only gets less and less balanced the more they add heroes.

For now, and brig wouldn’t have been needed if tracer wasn’t a problem.
Thinking that new heroes or adding more will balance the game is extremely naive.
A hero ban system would be the best way to balance the game, but the devs and community largely don’t want it.
More heroes = different viable methods of play
Yet Brig hardly counters Tracer as much as she’s supposed to. A good Tracer will destroy a Brig if it’s a more open map.
I’m not saying we don’t need more heroes, I’m just saying that based on their patch notes they legitimately balance the cast slower than they do add heroes. It’s just gonna become more and more of a hellhold until they slowdown and focus on balance.

Adding new heroes doesn’t always work but the devs have been getting a little bit better at it. Regardless, the game NEEDS more tanks and supports, and the game might not have room for them if the devs try to balance it before adding them, or it might not be possible to balance the game without adding new heroes, like with Tracer.
I think we should wait and see, they’ve sped up alot in the past month or two. Look how fast they responded to feedback about Symmetra and Sombra, not to mention all the support hero changes.

The devs make mistakes (like adding sombra) but that doesn’t mean that it’s a bad idea. Hammond is a success story, and he’s not even live yet.
This game is just a big cesspool of hate. I feel like most games have become this too recently. Yes, even Fortnite.

It has been proven how little feedback they actually take into consideration though. I still have hope, but if they don’t change something soon it’s gonna become an even more unbalanced mess.
Okay, yes they need more tanks and supports. However Hammond does absolutely nothing but encourage dive again, which Brig was supposed to end. Brig also introduced a ton of more problems than she solved. This is coming from somebody who has Brig as on of her mains.
Brig isn’t meant to completely wipe out tracer all the time, shes a niche hero that acts as an “out” to tracer that you can use sometimes so pros can play other heroes besides the Brit.
I mean I do love the new heroes, but for the sake of the competitive side I feel like they need to actually take a step back and analyze what is actually needed.

Brig created a lot more problems arguably. Moira was pretty much a dps flank counter as is.
Doomfist is super anti-fun and really is just another dive character.
