the only selfish person in such a scenario, as I see it, is the one who places specific fabricated expectations on their teammates

Its like you just donāt read my stuff that I post at all.
Like sometimesā¦when I am tanking I question where my support are or dps but I donāt outright think they are dropping their duties I more or less try to access what I missed and if they were doing something at the time I tried to engage or was making a play myself because it tends to be the case they may have gotten dived, or something. So in a lot of cases I have my head on a swivel to check back and fourth between making the plays I want to do and trying to keep my supports and dps alive.
Like donāt get me wrong. I am not top 500 by any means, especially as a tank. but I get those compliments <3

I dont believe thats the case here
Player A is stating that he/she is expecting certain things from his/her teammates
but said teammates may have different priorities than A. Each player is permitted to play the game and work towards their team objectives as they see fit.
I see A as the selfish one, and the others as not
and no, selfishness is a personal activity. It doesnt ātake twoā. Ever.
IMPORTANT NOTE: DISAGREEMENT and HARASSMENT are two entirely different things. The former does not mean the latter is occurring

Person A want it a certain way and person B wants to do it their way. Person B can either choose to comply or not, when they donāt they are just as selfish as person A, because it is a team game and both need to be on same page whether it works or not.

The others are doing what they can to attain the team goal, exactly as they should be and as the game expects them to be
The only selfishness occurring in this stated scenario is with Player A, who is saying ādo what I I I I I say, or else Im not playing tank no moreā

B is simply trying to play the game, and isnt required to ācomplyā with what A says, ever
There is no selfishness whatsoever with B in this scenario
many people bring up that it is a team game, but unfortunately, then take that to mean that there is a team captain who dictates what the team does
the truth for the matter is that this is a team game in which each individual gets to individually decide what they will do in order to accomplish the team goal
Player A decides what he/se will do, and does NOT get to decide what B will do
ever
Player B decides what he/she will do, and does NOT get to decide what A will do
ever

Pray tell, what supports are dropping their dutiesā¦ ever? Iāve seen DPS be goofinā but not often the supports doing that. Are you a dive tank thatās on their own and complaining about not getting heals?

I just want a basic team at this point.
I feel like Iām often also fighting my very own teammates just to get even a smidge of a good experience.
IMPORTANT NOTE: my disagreement in the post to follow does not in any way mean, equate to, or imply harassment on my part. It is simple disagreement for the reason(s) stated
this is a team defined by one individual.
a player only gets to decide what they themselves do or play, they d not get to arrange the rest of the team to suit their own personal definition of ābasic teamā
exceptions to this do occur, such as in a paid arrangement like in the OWL. An OWL player accepts compensation in exchange for control of their pick and what they do with said pick
What I appear to be reading here is that a teammate must cooperate in order for there to be a good experience
First, as already mentioned, no teammate is ever required to do so
Second, if one cant enjoy the game have a āgood experienceā without some level of control over what oneās teammates do, this may not be the right game for that person. There are thousands of games out there, and perhaps one can be found more suited to meet this specific need of controlling oneās teamates

That is why, you get topicās like this some random wants to direct some other random doesnāt want to listen. Both are selfish traits, i am not using selfishness in a derogatory way, but it is what it is.
It is though Player A want it his way and player B wants it their way, nothing is wrong with either why should a random listen to another random, but selfishness is still selfish because 2 people what different things.
Still doesnāt change both people being selfish, the only difference is that the tank has leverage.
