I was at 2920 today and now I’m 2560 (somewhere there). I just kept going on a losing streak and still haven’t won a single game. This happened to me last season as well. I went from diamond to gold in 3 weeks. Over the 3 weeks I played comp and couldn’t gain sr, instead I just kept getting defeats after defeats. The same thing happened to today. If this game is going to make me loose like this, what’s the point of playing comp. why should I fill for the team. So starting tm I’m only playing dps and insta locking it.
Losing that much SR in one day is primarily your fault for insisting on playing tilted. You were basically throwing after the third loss
How did you get to 2900 in the first place?
That’s one of the dumbest things I’ve ever heard.
He has a hell of a point tho. When I lose a single game, I take a break for a day, or longer.
Just keep playing doomhardt. Everyone’s favorite new secret hero from the depths of diablo’s lair
Man, I’m gonna miss stalking the profiles of OP’s. But, yeah, playing tilted can have a mayor impact on your game. And, playing one match after another can get you the same players (not always), that you already lost with/against.
insta locking dps is simply selfish and not in the spirit of good teamwork.
I feel you OP, I’ve had 1 really unlucky day with leavers this season and it kicked me from 2900 to below 2600 for the first time in 8 seasons and it seems impossible to climb back up again.
What’s teamwork got to do with anything in this game?
At my crappy ELO it’s luck if your team even manages to group up once, and between dps Moira on bronze heals, yolo Rein’s feeding all game and 30% win rate Widows that couldn’t even hit the floor with the gun pointed down, dps instalock is the least of most player’s problems.
I had a game the other day with me Zarya,Winston and rein player and 5 other players all Rein mains with 15+hrs this season on Rein. I got gold elims with 1!
You’re not alone, it’s pretty pointless to attempt competitive right now if you have any intention of actually playing competitively. Which… seems odd but nevertheless is the case currently. Don’t even queue for comp unless you intend on one-tricking/throwing/quickplay with points.
This system has ironically made it impossible for flex players to rank up with any kind of efficiency. Which is, again, very strange considering this game is literally built around teamwork and counter-picks.
Not true at all. My SR is top 3% and I flex. EDIT: Oops I dropped 100sr so like top 4% but the point still stands.
Than you don’t understand basic human psychology. How much SR would it take for you to lose in a row before you decided to take a break or call it a day? Your ability to focus and make good decisions declined with more stress.
Have an amount of SR you’re willing to risk for that day and an amount you want to gain. If you reach your SR “bottom” meaning the SR you’re willing risk stop playing. If you start the day with two wins you’re gonna want to keep that going unless you get dealt two losses right after. Essentially what I’m saying is playing this game is about timing, so if you’re getting rolled rather than losing 500 SR instead realize it’s a bad day to play and stop playing. Only risk like 150 SR. Having a second account helps with this too, if your second account is higher than your other account you’ll want to play the lower one up to the high level.
Sorry no, taking a break is not the proper answer to crappy match making.
We are just accommodating to Blizzard’s crappy design
Then accept your win loss rate, if you don’t want to take steps to stop your free fall there’s no helping you
Matchmaker is garbage, but tilt is a thing. So stopping after 2 losses is sound advice.
Also, obvious tip is to stop queuing for 5 minutes after a loss. Otherwise you’ll end up with the same idiot/s that cost you the last game.
True, I agree with you.
the match maker has been hot garbage through every iteration they have done. What makes you think they literally can make one properly now? Wtf (whothef) thought it was a good idea to stack multiple healers/tanks in groups is fair matchmaking or all DPS.
Assuming your player base will change to fill properly is the worst idea ever. Because given the option they will always choose what they prefer over what they should. Don’t say but every comp can work! bullcrap! Lets see you win with torb, ana, sym, you(tank),hanzo, mcree or heck mei… this is almost every game my rank…
I’ve lost faith in this game I try to just qp now mostly to avoid just getting irritated or upset… then quit after a few games from lack of wanting to keep playing the same thing over and over… dps every game … every time… idk I guess I’m getting old at this point and not willing to put more than a few games in before just playing something else.
