Does twitch have anti afk watching measures?

I heard somewhere a while back that you can’t get twitch drops unless it’s on an active tab on your main monitor.

Is this true? Does twitch have anti afk watching measures?

No. Just put it on 160p, mute it and forget about it.

If you don’t claim the drop after you get enough watch time within a timely manner, you may lose out on the drop. I believe you have to claim within 24 hours. That being said, I strongly recommend watching at least the Beta bash on twitch.tv/playoverwatch starting at 2022-04-27T18:00:00Z. That is going to be a fun broadcast with some of the best Overwatch players around.

It doesn’t need to be an active tab but you should probably have volume enabled to stop the browser from automatically closing it to save resources. I’d also check in every 15 minutes or so to make sure you’re still making progress

No. I’ve been in alternate tabs , AFK an out of the house for hours, I still got drops

Just remember to not mute it completely,to be safe.

I was muted to as I remember. Basically just check back periodically to make sure youre gaining time

No, AFK watching always works for these events, what does Twitch care? It’s the advertisers who should be annoyed they’re paying for this, lol.

Twitch doesn’t have afk measure but sometimes it bugs out and the stream buffers and won’t load unless it’s the main tab, in which case you wouldn’t get any watch progress

Also if there are multiple drops in “1 package” (not in this case but for example, overwatch sprays" you can’t get the next tier of drops until you claim the first one

Keep the volume one. That’s all.

I don’t think I’ve ever left the volume on and I always get my drops, but I’m not taking any chances. I’ll be running two streams at once from home, and also running a silenced stream in the background at work, lol.

A. how do you find out about these time things that’s cool

B. did you make new friends during the alpha, I saw your name in like half the videos of the alpha I saw and was like that gif of the man pointing while holding a can as he sees something he recognizes for me

Are you talking about the automatic time stamp in my post? Just click the calendar icon in the toolbar in the forum post editor form.

My relationship with Blizzard team members, Overwatch Esports casters, and content creators grew a thousand times over the course of the Alpha. All of these people really do care for the game and want to see it and this community (as a whole) grow.

Yes, people care about their jobs. lol

I used auto refresher to farm OWL tokens back in the day. Don’t think they’re needed anymore…

If it’s anything like previous drops: You’ll have to make sure your account is linked and you’ve accrued the correct amount of time then after that you’ll have to accept the drop in the top panel.

You can 100% AFK the time portion.

nah ill be watching/simping pokimane lol
