For example, does using a mechanical keyboard vs a regular keyboard some how improve your gameplay or make you better at Overwatch / video games in general?
A friend of mine recently upgraded his own keyboard and gave me his old one. (Razer Blackwidow Mechanical Keyboard) Its a very nice keyboard. It lights up, makes a clicky noise, feels good and looks very cool. But after using it for a few hours in Overwatch and a few other games, I don’t feel myself preforming or playing games better. I’m no better now with my new keyboard than I was with my old one.
That being said, does it really matter what keyboard and mouse you use? Or is it all just overhyped, overpriced stuff with fancy CHROMA RGB lights and cool logos?

It matters a little bit. But often it’s just preference.
You might struggle with a default Dell mouse. But a cheap Logitech would work fine.
Yes, having a mouse that suites your hand is extremely important. If you want to buy a new mouse go watch rocket jump ninja. Mechanical keyboards can help but they aren’t as important.

Haha, the keyboard/mouse I use doesn’t matter because I don’t even use one!

not really, you know those hp free mouse you get?
i played with the free hp mouse and keyboard for like 2 years.
Oh yeah definitely, only my mouse though not my keyboard. Logitech G PRO Wireless is the best gaming mouse i’ve EVER used.
Mouse is very important, specially if you go over 100 FPS.
Good rate, sensor and grip will make you hit A LOT more shots than with a regular 5 bucks random/standard mouse.
