Does the ban time reset with each season?

My computer has a problem where it keeps on crashing on overwatch. So I’ve gotten a few bans (only from cancelling matches, I always join back if it crashes mid match) and my last one was an hour ban.

So will the ban timer reset with the next season so the next ban would only be 5 minutes?

You get some forgiveness over time, but if you get repeated season bans you eventually get permabanned.

When the new season starts, a full season ban will end. Active suspensions at the time when the season ends will still be pending however (for example if you left a game just before the end of the season, and got say a 1 hour suspension and only 30 minutes of the older season were remaining you would still have to wait out the full hour). Please note, if you get three season bans (regardless of when they happened), you will be permanently banned from Competitive Play. You can get back into good standing through a season by playing several games of Competitive in full.

Based on what you describe, you should be just fine and as long as you are not deliberately leaving or ignoring a consistent technical issues, it is very unlikely you will ever reach even a season ban, much less a permanent one.

i just thought of something? how do tons of streamers that do “bronze to gm streams” get their accounts to bronze anways? do they soft throw?? i always thought they just leave all their comp games to derank to bronze yet according to above thread they would get permabanned

only thing i can think about is they soft throw or deliberately play like crap to get to bronze??

They do unranked to gm now i think

Haven’t see any of these in ages, just unranked to GM ones. Probably because of the possibility of getting banned. Pretty sure Twitch wouldn’t support throwing on stream either, just like they don’t with cheating.

Purchase a new account and they usually just play Mercy.

what they used to do was go in six stacks with other people and throw. Whilst the throwing part isnt too bad I guess because they’re not making any innocent people lose, the fact that they are ruining probably hundreds of games of other players when they climb back up to GM is the bad part.

What i mean is, If I recently got a 1 hour ban, next season would my next ban be a 10 minute one or the one after the hour ban?

I think the accumulating effect resets every season.

It should reset. Note that the starting penalty is 15 minutes in the day and age.
