Will changing my display mode to boarderless window have any affect on my FPS?
I frequently see claims that Windowed modes has no performance cost on modern Operating Systems, but I have found this to not be the case.
It may not be as bad as ye olde times, and some games (including Overwatch) handle it better than others, but you still want to go fullscreen if you want to squeeze every possible frame out of your system.
borderless window mode means your GPU is actively attempting to render your desktop and every other window on the screen (even if they’re behind the Overwatch window). It does allow you to swap between Overwatch and anything else much faster, but it will cost frames in game.
