I’m just curious when I am in a 3-5 stack most wins is “expected” even if the game was hard and most losses is a “reversal.” The only way to rank up for me is a win streak otherwise its a win loss alternating and because of how its classified my rank just keeps going down.
Rank isn’t an infinite ladder to climb. It represents the percentile you’re in. If you’re not climbing, then you’re where you’re supposed to be. You only climb when you prove yourself consistently better than those you share a rank with.
I get how it works… I assume I reached my rank so I win about 50% of my matches but if I’m in a stack my wins net me +19 but losses are reversal at -24% means mathematically I will always rank down.
Sounds like it can’t find stacks that large to put you against so it’s always assuming you have the advantage being in a large stack.
Is this really a thing? Games are so tough.
That’s just my best guess idk. I think the reality though, is team 4 has never had the comp system functioning optimally in OW2. I have screenshots from last season 35 games 60% win rate de-ranked.
You aren’t ranking up because you are struggling to win against lower rank players.
The rank of your group is the average rank of all players in it.
If you are gold who is grouping up with a bronze smurf, ofc you won’t rank up if you are barely winning against silvers.
It punishes the people not in a stack.
My stack are all roughly the same rank - high plat to low diamond, nice of you to make assumptions though and somehow not answer the question.
No.
But if the rank range of that stack is wide, it does make it harder to give you a perfect balanced match so there will be far greater chance of SR variance leading to those modifiers.
Quite the opposite. Solo players are just background noise
