Yes, she definitely sounds different. But I think I like her new voice. Both are good IMO.

I agree, her new voice in the Zero Hour sounds abit dull and weird comparing to her voice in Reunion, :frowning:

Yeah, she does.

Well… she IS flying into battle and fighting robots and excited to see Winston. Could be a new actress… could be circumstances :man_shrugging:t2:

She sounded super cheerful. Could use more bubbly heroes honestly.

Well cheerful isn’t bad, I love it with Tracer but honestly I liked Echo’s reunion voice way more. This voice doesn’t really fit well imo. I actually thought for a second they used the same voice actor as Tracer’s for this OW2 cinematic. Could be off on that though.

Echo is an adorable baby birb who hatched from a metal egg in the “reunion” cinematic.

Mercy is mamma birb by default, fite me.

(Wait, does that make Mcree Papa Birb? He was the first thing Echo saw after she hatched, after all…)

I think the change was due to the fact that Echo sounded a bit like Athena in the McCree short

Maybe they got another voice actress for Echo in the meantime ?

I also checked both animated shorts in French and they kept the same actress which is Françoise Cadol, Angelina Jolie’s official voice actress in French, who also voiced Lara Croft for more than a decade (before Tomb Raider’s reboot).

I just love her voice.

That being said, I also felt like Echo’s voice in English was more childish than the one in the “Reunion” animated short. Maybe it’s just the tone that gave this impression when she said “Hello Winston”.

In French, I didn’t have that feeling. And even though her “Salut, Winston” was also joyful, her voice didn’t sound childish, at least not as childish as the one from the English voice actress.

We’ll find out sooner or later if it’s the same actress or not. We just need a wikipedia update or something haha.
