my game crash to desktop during battle and i got leaver penalty, in before . my friend get disconnect so i quit during the count down selection of heroes phase

Disconnects count as quits.
Leaving during the hero select countdown does not.
AFAIK, leaving doesn’t count only at the assemble part, the one when you can’t spawn at all, any other disconnects, like pulling the plug, counts.
Yes, it sucks when it’s not your fault for disconnecting, but there’s a reason you still need 5 leave matches in your last 20 matches for a penalty. If you keep having disconnections that frequently, stop playing OW and fix it.

i believe it count during selection. i does not quit in mid game , but in
the count down phase . and 1 game of crash , i think add together is 4 so it count me the 20 games thing
Per official response, it doesn’t.
The countdown doesn’t extend to the period after hero selection. Once you spawn in, the time to quit has passed.
If you play with a friend, and they back out as part of a group that also counts as a quit.

It usually will, unless you leave during initial setup and are close to the penalty with the warning, because the warning will pop up then anyway for some reason even though you will get no penalty for leaving during hero setup. I’d literally bet my life on that.
To clarify, this means leaving before anyone is able to spawn into their spawn rooms.

If you can’t spawn (assemble part-start of match), you can leave without penalty, anything after that, the moment you can spawn, it counts as left game.
