Does Armor Need Buffed/Changed?

it takes 5 damage off of an attack just 5, it explains why bastion can survive a rein charge with 5 health left, but doesn’t survive a pulse bomb because the stick of the bomb does 5 damage.
Should armor take 5 damage off for each bit of armor that takes damage to make tanks like rein more tanky? (i guess it could only effect natural armor that you spawn with)

No but Shield Health does. Perhaps the regen rate could be increased from 20 to 30 per second or the 3 second delay before it regents could be reduced to 2 seconds.

why? do you mean like less time to regen

Armor’s pretty powerful - it halves damage taken from heroes like Winston, D.Va, and Tracer.

Armor reduces damage by the lesser of 5 or 50%. So a 120 damage pharah rocket will be reduced to 115 (5 < 50%). But a 7 damage Reaper pellet will be reduced to 3.5 (50% < 5).

Winston (as an example) only deals 3 damage per attack. At 20 attacks per second, he deals 60 dps. But vs armor, his damage is reduced to 1.5, reducing his dps to 30. So he only deals half damage vs armor.

Armour is already too strong IMO. It was fine before Brigitte but now that Armour is so common it needs to be looked at. It’s a direct counter to a lot of the cast. Pretty much any hero without burst damage is unduly affected by Armour.

I mean, think about it, it’s a resource which can hardly be considered scarce right now and yet it is capable of reducing the damage of a lot of the cast by a whopping 50%.

The other thing is it goes between shields and HP, so say you armour up a Zen, when Zen takes damage, his shield is damaged first (and shields can regen automatically) then if you get rid of his shield only then does he start to lose armour. That’s really strong!
