Does anyone understand Ana's strange voiceline?

“In the desert, the cheetah lives for 3 years, the camel lives for 9”

She apparently has a lot of Arabic proverbs in her voice lines but does anyone know what this one means?

I looked up the definition but I can’t find anything that isn’t scientific.

Speed isn’t everything.

Ah, that makes sense. Thanks.

‘Don’t challenge my heal sniping skills - i can always out-snipe you’

That is, until you bring a good Widowmaker to the matchup…

The cheetah runs itself dry, the camel holds its water and trudges on.

She’s like talking about dive heroes being the cheetah’s and she’s the camel, they’re very fast, she’s slow but has a lot of ways to shut them down.

Being prepared and well adapted will get you further than just being talented.

Correct. It closely mirrors another proverb about slow and steady and winning races and all that.

I really dislike voice lines like this and I almost never hear anyone use them. Ana has another one that’s similarly pretentious sounding with “the ghost watches”. Maybe these are more popular in other parts of the world or something?

I love them because I am pretentious.

I love this voiceline because I can spam, “In the desert, in the desert, in the desert…”

I was just watching Enemy at the Gates where the main character says “In the forest, the wolf lives for three years and the donkey lives for nine.”. Immediately thought of this.
