I just got in a game where I told a guy he should have read the patch notes and that the meta isn’t and won’t be zarya hog anymore. He said “lol whenever they release a new patch, that’ll be true”

I dont care what is top500 doing. Thats like less than 1% of the ladder? And base don your topic, you are not top500 too so why do you care so much?

Players below plat do not care about meta at all. Players do no play hog because he is played on top or because he is meta. They play him because he is strong. When dive was meta, it didnt matter for majority of ladder, because players who werent on top could not execute it.
And btw, using caps lock wont make your post more right. And definitely wont bring you more likes. Also chill out lol, you are losing it

yes they do care, because according to the OP that you failed to fully comprehend, the person in question (which I also indicated a vast majority of players I have been encountering) have also defended themselves by sayign they are doing meta, and therefore they do care about it.

What purpose does it actually serve? You did nothing to start a discussion, all it is is complaining with nothing actually brought to the table besides “muh dumb teammates!” All this is for is for people to pat you on the back and say “yeah dumb teammate” and pad your ego.
Doesn’t matter what is or isn’t meta if you’re anything below diamond or even masters. If you have a hog and a Zarya player on your team they’re going to be leagues better on those heroes than whatever is “meta”. The level of coordination and individual skill needed to pull of whatever meta and tactics are being used in pro play and gm/top500 does not exist in most of the ladder.

if you think this is what the post is about, you’ve got issues. this post is about what people believe the meta is, and to change the mindset of the vast majority of players who have now returned to do their placements after the new season, who, the vast majority have also been playing hog and zarya and have been -STATING- in the games whether its enemy team OR my own team… that it is the meta…
the complete denial in this thread is overwhelming, and the sad part is, by the time someone makes it to this response, then they’ll have read what you guys said and fell into the hygelian dialectic paradigm that you guys are unconsciously throwing at me for laughs before they realize the cutting truth I’m telling here to calm the situation down. If anything your attitude shows that you must be an amazing teammate that is understanding that people will play what they want to play and everyone must love to play with you. what? the only reason I’m responding is because everything you’re saying is clearly wrong. You know nothing about the games I’ve been in and what I’ve been doing. My conscience is totally clear of this. Instead, you wrote a paragraph analyzing me. This post isn’t about me. Why are you making it about me?
If anything, I’m hoping there’s somebody out there and a group of people no matter how big or small who can see the big picture and can share this pain, and we can get together and talk about what we can do to change this. IF ANYTHING at all…

The post itself isn’t about anything. It literally just says “hey guys look. Dumb teammate right?” When all it reads as is “I berate my teammates whenever I see a pick I don’t like.” Meta doesn’t matter below gm/masters. Just play what you’re good at and move on.

Look. Yeah it’s weird to not notice that the game updated but like I said. Meta doesn’t matter below masters/gm anyways. Not to mention they didn’t really change hog and Zarya barely got changed. They’re still arguably the strongest tanks in the game right now. Even if they weren’t, whether they were hiding behind “its meta” or not, they were playing what they wanted to play. It being meta or not has no bearing on that.
This last game our roadhog was complaining the whole time about our team and how he has four golds. I asked him, “hey, you have a point, but can you do this favor for us… can you go shield? I will explain why” then i proceeded to explain
he said “NOPE” but the other tank switched to shield
then we never lost again after that. This is also after the healers defended themselves angrily after being targeted for not having gold healing on the first push where we got rolled and had not time to fight due to his bad pick and how it did indeed have a big bearing on how we were playing the game based on what the tanks were doing and the directions they were headed. I think you’re wrong about saying it doesn’t matter in lower ranks.
as for the other guy, he is now trying to make this post about me as well. It’s a shame life is like this lol

Well sorry but it doesn’t. And why doesn’t it? Because the level of coordination, team play, decision making and individual skill needed to pull off certain metas just doesn’t exist at lower ranks. Too many people thought “just go goats” or “let’s run dive” without actually understanding why it’s strong or how to play it, a lot of times failing against teams running what they want but understanding how to play those characters better than the players who just decided to put up a new hero because “meta”.
