Does anyone know why they’re making the mythic skins with less and less options?
Has Blizzard said anything as to why?
I’m a hanzo main and just… disappointed with the skin.

Thats an interesting topic, try leading with it in the title next time to get a few more eyes on it.
If youre a hanzo main, I feel for ya. The skin itself is interesting enough imo, but the lack of customizations just sucks. Season 1 genji had like what 12 options right? This a big step backwards in what is supposed to be the best skin of the season.
My opinion? Don’t get the battlepass if you think its lacking. If you already have well… we can at least talk about how much it sucks here ![]()
I could understand if the first mythic (genji’s) was just super awesome cause it came with the game launch. But, the next 3 were good too. Then Tracer’s… Ana’s… and now Hanzo’s is even less options than the two before.
100% true. Started going downhill with Sig in season 4.
Stop spending money on cruddy comsmetics, we all know Blizz listens to how people spend their money more than anything. If I’m being honest, its probabaly the only thing listen to haha ![]()
I don’t blame you. They did Hanzo dirty. It has the least customization of any mythic skin.
They could have added customization options for horn types or colors.
The tattoo/makeup patterns.
Shoes.
The rope across his shoulders/waist have a chain option or something.
Ultimately, lots of little things that wouldn’t have required much time to do… and they just didn’t.
Yeah, I completely agree with you. I don’t even play Hanzo and I’m upset on your behalf.
No official word on it but if I were to hazard a guess I’d say that they’re testing to see how much little effort they can get away with whilst still charging people the same price for the skin.
That being said supposedly they are evaluating changes for both the shop and BP in the future. So maybe worse mythics is their compromise to being less greedy.
Jared Neuss apparently explained on Twix that Hanzo’s design prioritized VFX, but I can’t find the tweet to verify this.
The only way to get the Moira, OR the Pharah skins… is to pay $40 for the ultimate battlepass. I get that it’s a good deal if you were going to get it anyway, but, what if someone ONLY wanted Moira or ONLY Pharah, now they gotta get both and pay an extra $20. This season strikes me as more greedy and not less greedy.
Hopefully with Kotick leaving, things might change for the better.
Watching Argge drop like over 100 euros to skip ahead to get the mythic skin was just… hilarious as it was baffling.
To me at least.
we are all one with the iris
Cool but not worth taking away other options.
I wouldn’t hold your breath.
Eh to each their own.
I have yet to see a Mythic skin worth using options or not.
I’m going to be that person and just call it as I see it; they’re lazy. Because I refuse to believe it’s simply because they ‘ran out of ideas’ for these last few skins. Why should they put in the effort when people are still just throwing money at them? They can afford to slack off for a few BP’s and then when people start complaining, they’ll ramp it up so everyone just forgets.
That’s just my opinion, given how Blizzard has been lately.
On that we agree. I liked Genji’s the most but even then it wasn’t worth it.
They said they decided to focus on the VFX with the hanzo mythic over options, don’t get me wrong some cool stuff but man would have loved to have different variants for the skin.
…? Genji’s barely has any customization compared to the others. You can change his mask or his tattoo texture. That’s literally nothing
Other skins have two sets of model changes to customize. Sigma’s and Kiriko’s and Ana’s are way better than Genji’s
Ana has 3 entirely unique models? Arguably more unique options than Genji’s…?
Horrible excuse tbh considering all the other mythics have unique VFX for their abiltiies/ult too AND still have more options
