I get that I can’t like all gamemodes, and should just deal with it, but why does it make you do all the KOTH maps consecutively? I’d rather do one occasionally than play every KOTH map in a row…
It’s at the point where I just leave and take the 50 SR penalty whenever I get koth
I never knew people hated control point maps until I saw another post about it recently. I get you don’t like the map, most people hate assault or “2 cp” but but I don’t know anybody who would rather take an SR drop, suspension, and risk of ban just because they don’t like a game mode. And what do you mean “all the maps consecutively”? Like if you play Ilios you the next map with be Nepal?
What maps you get is mostly luck of the Draw.
RNGesus wants you to hate KOTH less.
I love Koth becuase it allow some niche heroes to shine like Rein, Doomfist and Mei. Actually I think it’s good for all heroes except for snipers.
I thought I was the only one who can’t stand that mode <3
King of Hill is the best anime ever. I can’t even say who my favorite character would be (Probably Hank himself as he’s just SO inspiring.)
Oh…we meant the game mode. I like it better than 2CP…but that’s not saying too much as I only think like 2 modes in this game work well enough (Payload and Hybrid maps. Every other style kinda fizzles with Overwatch.)
Hybrid > Payload > 2 CP > Koth
Never knew people had a problem with Koth, the only problem I have are with certain assault maps.
It is the only mode I find enjoyable.
Even with a bad team you can carry unlike every other mode.
Plus the maps in general are the most enjoyable for me.
People seem divided over whether they hate KotH or 2CP more. Payload and hybrid seem to be fine.
Personally, I like KotH. You get at least 2 shots to get your strategy right, and because the map changes between rounds, you can mix up your strategy instead of just riding 6 heroes to the end.
Love the game mode but I think it has some of the worst maps like Ruins and the Oasis maps which are basically all terrible.
KotH is probably my favourite mode tbh.
Most Payload and CP maps are skewed to favour one side, even if only slightly. KotH is as fair as they come.
Honestly, I’m not a big fan of KOTH, either. I know most people don’t favor it, but I actually like 2CP maps. At the very least, the match ends quickly if your teammates in the queue are unhelpful as opposed to making you sit through periods of waiting for the timer to run out.
I probably like 2CP maps because TF2 was my first PC game, and they were my favorite maps when I started.
I love Koth. Lijiang and Ilios are two of my favorite maps.
2CP on the other hand is an awful mode. Every time I see Anubis pop up I die a little inside.
What I don’t understand is why the developers think it is a good idea to purposefully design some of the maps so that Pharah and Widow are insanely powerful on them. Ruins is completely broken and there are several KotH maps that have terrible sight lines and are clearly design to allow Pharah to do whatever she wants.
Thats their way to try to implement hero diversity. They design map dependend metas.
the only maps i hate are probably volskaya, blizz world (attacking), and horizon
In QP I simply leave when a KOTH map comes up, because there is a 100% probability of a Brigitte, and I’m just sick and tired of getting stunned every 5 seconds.
i actually like anubis the most out of 2cp maps. i like the cool flank routes and high grounds you can take on anubis, and it’s just an exciting map imo
I’m pretty sure it’s more than just luck of the draw, it has something to do with time.
I’ve noticed that a lot people seem to get the same map if the game starts within a certain time of each other, so it’s probably just on a time clock of all the maps rotating.
Could be wrong, but that’s what it seems like to me. As far as in a row, I don’t know, but i’m going to try to look into it after they fix the meta.
Edit: Why i mentioned it wasn’t luck of the draw was so that you could actually avoid getting KotH as often by queueing up when you saw streamers (maybe in your similiar rating?) getting maps that aren’t koth. Hope that helps you yellowjello
