Does anyone else hate playing with lucio players?

it feels like they just feed and die the whole game. speed boost is a more situational than most other support utilities, they only ever self heal etc etc

i can’t stand it, finding a good lucio is rare, ones that will speed in onto vulnerable targets and speed out to disengage properly

That is cause lucio requires cluster fights and game doesn’t like stacking anymore only value he really has is speed, cause healing 1 or 2 people is crap.

I would pay a monthly subscription of like $7/mo to never have them on my team for those exact reasons lol /…hj? …/srs

good lucios are rare. I HATE feeling like I have to go main supp cuz of lack of value from lucio, especially with the meta right now. Ruins the whole match vibes for me.

Thanks for speedboost! Now I get to work overtime filling in your gaps and making opportunities… sooo fun. /s

I love playing with Lucio. Speed boost is so powerful.

Good lucio players are great, but those are few and far inbetween. Most are reddit lucios who go off on their own and dont meaningfully contribute.

The noticeable ones are the ones who go turbo speed boost without everyone out to the enemy, try to boop everything, solo whomever and stick to the ceiling and are constantly 1v5ing.

I do note I hate those. AFAIK Lucio is most effective when using his auras on his team, not just to be a hard to hit sub-par DPS by himself.

All that being said Lucio can be a valuable team member when played well, so no, I don’t hate them all.

I LOVE the lucio Special.

I.e speed boosting and wallriding out of spawn, leaving your entire team behind only to die in the first 10 seconds of the game in the enemy backline.

I’m with you there, a good lucio feels oppressive when he taxis his tank around. Reddit lucios are throwing 9 times out of 10. I can respect a lucio who goes out to stomp a widow and then kites back to his team. I have no respect for a lucio who goes for their backline the whole game.

I do not care. They can play what they want to play.

I’ll be honest here; good Lucio’s are rare at most SR because decent Lucio quickly climb in rank. That’s why he’s a really strong hero (when used well) at basically mid-masters and up. That’s why Lucio is one of the top picks on almost every streamer’s current tier list, but you hardly ever see him in ladder ranked games.

Does that mean if you get one on your team in lower SR he’ll be terrible? No, but he’s harder to find value out of. He requires a good amount of team synergy…and if not, the Lucio needs to generate a lot of value on his own, which often Lucio players stuck in lower SR are unable to do well.

Not at all. Because I am the Lucio player.

He’s my most played hero this season and my winrate is rather s3xu4l.

Lucio is so strong in metal ranks imo because off angling is king in Overwatch. And Lucio is the off angle King. He can take off angles the easiest of any support, and he can position the enemy into an angle that makes it so your teammates are off angling them.

In metal ranks, teammates often have no clue as to what off angles are. If anything they only know what hard flanking is, go off on a wild solo flank and die.

So booping the enemy into positions that turn your pleb teammates into an off angler is OP.

Reason I stopped playing Lucio in OW2 is that the people I played with who would do this stopped playing (because 5v5 made the game worse and the metas were already showing to be more stale than ever) and the general playerbase* (in master at the time) just would flat out refuse to use my speed when I gave it to them in solid timings to either engage or disengage, leading to lost fights and my pick being useless.

And, of course, when they did use the speed…boop did nothing to tanks going unga bunga into your team thanks to the tank passive and more than half of heroes had a means of undoing the knockback for free, so his other utility was lost, meaning you couldn’t compensate there tbh.

This season, despite being much stronger thanks to the fact that utility and damage are key now, his projectile size partial nerf mid season crossed with the projectile buffs for heroes that already had an easy time hunting him down, means he’s more often than not feeding too. I did make advantage of his being good again before this happened, though.

*In OW1, playerbase generally listened to my shotcalls and followed up on speed etc, but F2P and the death of matchmaking really ruined that.

Idk, all the Lucios I play with are amazing, they come back and boost me back to the fight, they always heal us or speed us up… and their beats are amazing

I love Lucio, best support by far

Worst char to play with in the game imo

Hit heal me please
Die 30 seconds later

“Ya I heard it, just swap to someone up close instead”

Bro I’m not swapping off a ranged dps just so you can play lucio badly.

It’s not the character, it’s the player.

I don’t care what dps you pick, I’ll still make Lucio work.

I can take agro of the enemy so you can shoot them dead with no pressure on you.

I can boop he enemy up and into a good angle for you to shoot them.

I can peel for you when you get dove and turn a 1 v 1 into a 2 v 1.

The benefits never stop. So long as I don’t die.

The bad Lucio players int and die. The decent, or good Lucio players int and live. And kill. And peel.

At this point I hate playing with Overwatch players.

Fair, but I’m only plat. So it’s not really going to matter.

Likewise. I’m Plat too. Lucio is strong AF in plat :slightly_smiling_face:

Yes. Good or not i prefer not to see them on my team

most of the so called “lucio mains” i see just run around the map using speed boost trying to feed ult and shoot at the tank but forget to do any healing, kinda like dps moira meta but moira is good
