Do you watch it regularly and enjoy the gameplay and most things about it? and not just for the league tokens
Yeah, I enjoy it. Itās like watching any sport I guess. You just get invested in the personalities and want to see them succeed. Itās also pretty fun to analyze what the pro players are doing and see how you can apply it to your own team or play in general.
Yep! I love it, its great
I might tune in for a few minutes to watch someone like Jjonak or Jake.
I canāt watch it regularly because the season is over. But I did enjoy it. And Contenders is still fun (itās better than owl, in some ways).
Esports in general have interested me for a long time.
I enjoy watching certain teams play.
Unfortunately, Iām not getting tokens.
Me.
Quite a few people, believe it or not.
Still find it hard to believe anywhere near 20% of the forums, let alone the community, does though.
I lost interest in it very quickly, then again most of the streams I saw were mirror matches.
(Only one I sat through fully was the one where Jeff announced Retribution)
That one was hilarious since we were just 1 match from seeing the announcement, but Seoul kept capturing chokes RIGHT at the last seconds and the chat was screeching āNOOOOOā and āWE WANT JEFF!ā
Mmm ⦠At the beggining i loved OWL but then they added the Twitch Pass and all that things and then i just watched for the tokens (plus the only team that i liked started to play really bad at the endā¦)
Blizzard enjoys OWL. For the money.
Definitely, I donāt watch every game only due to the fact if school and work but I tune it whenever I can. It cool seeing characters used by pros especially if their characters you either main or want to learn.
I absolutely love it! Watching pros compete in my favorite game right now is enough to keep me engaged. The teams are all great and have such great players from all over (not Shanghai tho). My sister took me twice to the Blizzard Arena to watch a few games. I enjoy it thoroughly.
I definitely enjoy watching OWL. Itās always interesting to see what the worldās best players are capable of in the game you play for fun.
Being from New York, I wasnāt sure if Iād end up cheering for my stateās team, but the NYXL quickly won me over. The team has so much personality, charm, and raw talent. As a Zen main especially, watching Jjonak do his thing is nothing short of inspiring. Iāve become a much stronger player after watching him on stage and streaming.
That said, there are a lot of areas that can be improved. I think casting and observing in particular need more refining, but OW is an incredibly chaotic game so I understand that this is no small task. I know for example that Starcraft has some observers who are considered to be exceptionally talented, and Iām sure other games like LoL and DotA have well-known observers too. Observing a game like Overwatch requires intimate knowledge of every aspect of the game, as well as a cinematic eye. As OWL continues into its second season, I expect these things will naturally improve as casters get more matches under their belts and observers figure out the best ways to capture the game. Iām looking forward to seeing it become even better.
I like only the last stage with hanzo changesā¦
Others stages were only dive dive dive
Yes, I actually enjoy it. But just like with standard sports, I donāt watch every match. Iām more interested in certain teams and players than others. And sometimes the match times arenāt when I can watch. I watch when I can though. It can be quite entertaining.
OWL has its moments. I donāt like watching live due to all the breaks.
But for me to actually start watching it regularly they need to include a selectable player cam. If they include a 12-cam stream of the games, even if its bundled into the All-Access Pass, Iāll probably watch semi-regularly and maybe even live next year.
I do actually
I get hype on those power plays
I do. You get invested in the teams and the storylines. You start to see what teams do differently, even with the same general gameplan or mirror matches. The adrenaline you get watching a close match for a team you follow. Itās a ton of fun for me.
Itās the same for any spectator competition. Now that the season is over, Iāve gone back to focusing on Melee. M2K has replaced Uprising, but itās not that different an experience. If you enjoy any other e-sport or just sports in general, you should at least be able to understand why we like it, even if it isnāt your thing.
I only watch it while I eat dinner.
