Does a Mouse fitting your hand matter?

I never even considered this. How do you know if a mouse is too big or small? Does it even matter? I have no clue if mine fits my hand

I don’t know much about how to tell if it’s the wrong size or not (in fact my advice would be: is it comfortable? then it’s fine), but rocket jump ninja has a lot of really good videos regarding choosing the right mouse on his youtube channel

can you play comfortably for hours without getting mousepad burns or scuffs on your hand? Probably fits your hand then.

Signs of a mouse not fitting your hand and playstyle are:
Cramps.
Scuffs or calluses on places where your skin rubs the mousepad.
Muscle fatigue from awkward finger movements.

I’m not getting that but my palm defiantly rubs on my Mouse pad the entire time I play. My friend asked me what grip I used and I guess it’s claw based on the descriptions too

I’d also mention that every time I’ve purchased a new mouse, it felt awkward at first. Give yourself at least a week to get used to the new form factor.

But there’s definitely such a thing as too big and too small. A lot depends on the size of your hands (and the size of the mouse, obviously), as well as your grip style.

At the end of the day, it’s really the sort of thing that’s very subjective. The best thing you can do is go to a electronics store (Best Buy often has some gaming mice out on display) and actually put your hand on a few.

My hand is so big, that I use fingertips for the claw sized mouse.

Just get a smaller hand.

You might need a slightly longer/larger mouse then. Having your hand rub on the mousepad is generally undesirable since it might be too much friction and messing up precision, but if it’s not actually causing physical detriments to you… it’s probably OK.

I looked up the dimensions of my Mouse and this is it.

5.0 x 2.6 x 1.6 inches

Is that considered a small Mouse?

it does, it’s like socks or underwear size

It does.
The mouse that is too small and you will be grabing it with the tippy top your fingers.
The mouse that is too big is just going to feel uncomfortable.

I think its personal preference. I had this old mouse that was smaller than my current but he was the perfect design for my big hand somehow. The one i’m currently with its uncomfortable and its the same size of my palm lol.

Does anyone here have their palm rub the mousepad nonstop while gaming and doing general tasks?

Honestly, I’d say that it’s most important thing that the mouse fits your hand.
Pretty much everything aside cheap stuff made for office use has good enough components.

Maybe not if you only play an hour a Day or So but for longer hours a mouse that doesn’t fit your hand can really start to hurt.

I work in an office and the new Mices we got are really short but High and they are really uncomfortable for me So I plan on bringing my old Gamermouse to work after Vacation and swap to a Wacom Tablet at the same time.

I bought my current mouse at a computer store, not online. They had display mice I could feel in my hand before I bought them. You can’t get that with online shopping.

It only matters if it matters lol i know that sounds stupid. If your mouse feels good dont sweat it, if youve only ever used one mouse, maybe try another, but if yours feels good dont trip. There is no, mouse is too big or too small, its just how it fits each person.

if you’re looking to build muscle memory then it’s essential that you get a mouse that fits your hand.

RJN has a good hand size guide

Always, no issues. Finger and claw grip are completely normal ways to hold a mouse if you have bigger hands.

This is a THING?!?!?!?!
