I try to use it as often as possible. Sometimes I come across teammates that do as well, but not often. It’s a nice feature, but the game is so fast paced that I don’t believe it gives much of an advantage.

Pings are a godsend. When you have multiple teammates using it on top of yourself it’s very easy to coordinate even with randoms. Now you can ping that Widowmaker nobody can see but you, show where the supports are through walls, and in death you can ping enemies in front of your camera where you died, it’s nifty.
Maining Doomfist it’s pretty fun since he can get around everywhere fast and just ping anything so his team is aware, or make it more obvious that I’m about to dive in and feed. Nifty!

Having the ping system makes me feel like I’m actually capable of being a team player without being in the chats. I feel more like I belong and less like I could be ruining everything for other people

Yes. Whenever I’m on Zen, I always ping discorded targets. You can ping them behind walls, effectively giving your team a decently effective single target wallsight until the orb recalls from LOS. Incredibly useful.

I really love the ping system. I main Mercy though so the ping is super useful on her in particular since you can have a birds eye view. It has def made a pretty big difference in my games for me personally.
Yes, but rarely do teammates take advantage of it.
