Like what the TF2 community did, they hosted a website, thousands of people voted on it, then some content creators who were working together printed out an entire book filled to the brim with people’s signatures, and then they sent it to Valve HQ to tell them they wanted the bots removed?
It didn’t work too well BTW, since Valve had been working on a bot fix anyway for a few years prior, but maybe they actually sped up finalising the fix when the community banded together?
I’m just here huffing hopium and thinking maybe we could tell Microsoft “hey, we DO want a TV show and PvE campaign, the last one didn’t sell well because it was overpriced, underdeveloped slop.”
I’m just hoping Microsoft will make a new Overwatch PvE team Seperate of the PvP so we get the best of both worlds.
I don’t think MS is going to want to invest that much in a separate team for this game after the way this community has behaved for the last few years. It’s really out of hand how widely acceptable it’s become to call every part of the game trash and just generally spew negativity at anything added to the game regardless of whether complaints are warranted. I have no expectation that anything released wouldn’t result in exactly the same community backlash for no reason.
We’re going to have to figure out introspection and constructive criticism (unlikely) before we’re financially worth investing in. I don’t think people understand the impact their constant, puddle-deep, petty negativity has on the game, so they keep carelessly throwing it around and then unironically wondering why devs don’t talk to us or implement big new additions.
Inb4 “Make the game better then”. Nobody who’s being serious or has ever played another game can claim ours isn’t top-quality and industry leaders in several areas. It’s a pointless sentiment.
It took MANY years until Valve actually cared. The TF2 protest had been going on for forever.
The fix was also banning bots and bot hosters, Overwatch needs almost it’s entire dev team to be replaced and the focus to be changed from monetization, the shop, and player manipulation tactics to actually delivering good gameplay content and caring what the community thinks.
They would never do this because the game went from being a project that the devs had passion for to basically a mobile game being held afloat so it can produce lots of cash.
NO wait get a solid single player and online PVE that’s purely focus on co-op.
Play of the game should be option so instead of always having to see someone else’s highlight you get to see yours this is a must for QP.
I would drop 40 for a story mode alone, sometimes people just need a pay to play and still get away from online.
