Do you think Ranked is easier than Quick Play?

I have a lot of friends who refuse to try Ranked because it’s too scary for them, but in my experience, Ranked is usually easier than Quick Play? Probably because people in Ranked are trying harder, and because you are playing against players closer to your own skill level?

Does anyone else feel this is accurate or is this all in my head?

Between the both of them, QP is a lot more sweaty than ranked. I play QP mainly cause the games are faster and I hate playing to earn fake points, but whenever I play comp it is a lot easier to play games, most likely because of the matchmaking.

Comp usually has people who are more open to playing as a team and communicating.

no way in heck its easier and from what ive heard if u refuse to play a meta hero in ranked your most likely to be reported

People report you in QP to if you don’t play the Counterwatch game.

No, it is accurate.

If you think about it, there’s no restrictions in QP, so you can stack a whole group of high-master GM players together and just completely drag lobbies.

Well there was a period where I was in high rank QP lobbies, mostly diamond and master titles with the odd GM or T500 title. For whatever reason that period is now over lol.

ive not been reported for playing my character of choice atleast as far as im aware in unranked

Can i ask what role do you play the most?

You get reported a lot more in QP for literally anything if someone is tilted. In terms of playing as a team it is by far much harder than comp than it needs to be.

once i get a tank potg i usually shift over to dps for some reason my stats arent able to be shown on here

They did improve the MMR. It can still be… lets call it mehhh but its much better then to realese of OW2.

Ok, then another question, what are your main Heros?

I just made the experience if you play a certain group of Heros you have a much harder time because people hate you just because you play Hero XYZ

Tracer and Dva…even though im trash as support when i do play it i try to play Mercy you can pull up my stats using the name here and -1831 ive even played a bit of mei even though im not good with her either

Your friends should just queue together you only have grp restriction when you get to high ranks anyways, The scary part is you don’t know your teammates competancey or there aggression levels, but if you play together shouldn’t matter…

You shold check with medic xD

I have the same experience. Ranked isn’t necessarily easier. But it’s a far fairer game mode. Better balanced matchmaking, less leavers, less throwers.

I avoided ranked like the plague up until Season 5. I’d still do placements but then not play any more. Because in the last couple years of OW1 QP was chill while ranked was full of toxic, negative people who bully and insult you in basically every single game.

I realized in Season 5 of OW2 that that is now what QP is. There’s still some toxicity in Ranked but in my experience, about a quarter of the toxicity that’s in QP. Could be heavily dependent on the servers we all play on though.

Ranked uses a smaller matchmaking window so the matches there do feel more fair.

QP’s matchmaking is insane. It’s probably not uncommon to play against players 2 skill tiers higher or lower than you.

Its still always hilarious to me when those same players come to heel to a proper counter. Oh, you want to play Hammond master tank player. Here, let me a plat dps bring you to your knees on Sombra.

Or how with properly team play you can dismantle those same good players for trying to ignore their own team and play for themselves. Those situations are always fun.

There’s pros and cons for both.

Quickplay can put you in matches that are really hard because you have a load of lower rank teammates or are against much higher rank enemies, but it can also be extremely easy because you’re the one that’s been put on the higher skill team.

Comp games have the potential to be better quality, with much more even balanced back and forth. Those games are rare though, and matches are pretty much a coinflip: everyone is of similar rank apart from one weak link or one smurf which decides the entire outcome of the match before it even starts.

For me personally, I think the only fun mode now is mystery heroes.
