If they had a scoreboard, choosing whether to show your stats or not seems like something blizzard would do.
or do you think I’m unnecessarily hyping this up?

Seagull was at Bliz HQ streaming and interviewing Team 4 when Hamtaro was announced and hit the PTR and Mercer replied to a Twitch user asking about this specifically; a scoreboard isn’t remotely on their radar (paraphrasing.) Team 4 has shared their philosophy a multitude of times on the matter since Beta and is still firmly sticking with their opposition to the idea of implementing one. Personally, I hope to see the day that they revise their position but it’s not looking likely.
The goal is to reduce toxicity not increase it. Scoreboard likely goes against that direction.
I disagree with you. I think a scoreboard will help toxicity. If you know your DPS isn’t pulling the number, just look for other DPS in the LFG.
But if you’re not 100% sure it was the DPS’s fault but it seemed like it was, why not just get toxic.
In the end toxic people will be toxic no matter what.
I think the scoreboard idea would be hard to implement. For the simple reason you may switch from healer to dps or tank. How would it score? Elims? Healing? Blocking? It would be kind of a mess I imagine. It would be nice to have something to to gauge how well you or your teammates are doing.
well the vast majority of hard core teams don’t switch… but I’m sure they could do it for flexers too.
I just watched the video. The devs think it’s an awesome idea, but don’t have anything to announce. This is great news!
Your logic makes no sense to me.
If you 100% know it’s the DPS fault you don’t get toxic.
But if you don’t 100% know it’s the DPS fault you get toxic?
The reverse is more likely to be true. More over, a scoreboard doesn’t tell the whole story anyway.
but don’t throw the baby out with the bathwater. a scoreboard tells more of the story than no scoreboard. Someone may be toxic if they are loosing, at least let people defend themselves by showing the DPS number. You render someone defenseless when you don’t allow them to present evidence.
If blizzard does do a scoreboard, it will probably be voluntary contribution.
