Do you remember when blizz promised ''faster balance and patch notes?''?''

Because to me all of a sudden everything slowed down after the first times.

such a pity, this game can be a gold mine but I feel like it is treated like garbage at the moment.

3 patches/updates/balance adjustments in June alone. What are you on about?

Does anyone actually know what they’re trying to do? Is it literally just last until ow2 releases.

There doesn’t seem to be any point to anything they do anymore. Honestly ow1 is done they need to just get ow2 out asap

They are faster now. Maybe not as fast as you were expecting, but they used to be on a 4-week patch cycle. Now they’re not exactly on a consistent schedule but patch roughly twice as often.

Honestly don’t care so much about the speed, but more about the quality. And that announcement was what the 2019 year where they were giving up on content updates to push more balance updates…

End result of more than a year of focus on balance, the game is as unbalanced as ever if not worse. We haven’t had any more hero reworks (and likely won’t till OW 2 comes out). I think a more recent statement from Jeff was more telling.

He talked about how the goal was no longer to balance the game, but to break up the meta of the day. Just a bunch of random balance changes basically to ensure the meta keeps shifting around for OWL seasons imo, and no real care about the game being balanced.

Blizzard just wants the game to be broken and imbalanced in new ways.

There’s a pandemic going on, Jan.

Well, it certainly feels like they’re destroying the game faster.

overwatch 2 is nothing more than an expansion pack. Blizzards horrible hero balance like how they destroyed symmetras kit nerfing it all by 20% or more is going nowhere

Not like there’s something happening worldwide rn which can slow things down by a lot bc changes must be made to almost every employee working from home…

There actually has been more changes recently than we’ve had before and I don’t think it’s good for the game. Especially if your trying to build a Esport league, you can’t be changing the rules every 2 weeks.

Does anyone really think that Paris drastically improved to the point where they could beat the undisputed best teams in the league, or did Blizz just buff the crap out of a Hero that they happened to have a really good specialist on. Paris winning the tournament has more to do with a character getting over buffed than them actually improving their game. not to mention that they played the tournament with the Genji buffs but not with the Brig armor pack nerf. That was incredibly stupid to watch.

I am pretty sure you do not remember the previous speed of balance updates. Usually they were quarterly or every other month. Now they are a 1-2 times a month. That is literally faster by a wide margin.

The game is not in some balance disaster area where tons of changes are needed. The game is pretty largely balanced with a couple exceptions.

Working from home doesn’t really affect software development. In fact, many people prefer it and actually work better that way.

Their balance updates come out as frequently as before that statement about pushing out faster balance patches. Haven’t noticed a difference.

They’ve said this three times now

I stopped believing them after the second

Mortal Kombat 11?

I am not a 1 on 1 fighter person so I do not get the reference.

I wouldn’t mind if balance took thrice as long if it were actually half decent.

Every time I feel like they’re improved slightly they go and dash my hopes into the ground. At the end of the day, this is the team that shipped out Moth Mercy and they haven’t learnt a damn thing since then.

I remember when Blizzard passively promised “The Emerald Dream” for everyone on WoW. Instead we got CATA. YUCK.

Sorry I couldn’t figure out the game you were referencing in your post.

I thought it could’ve been MK? But I guess not.

We have COVID still existing.

Some of them have families to take care of that are at home as well. So yes, it does affect those who actually have kids staying at home, and parents both needing to work from home.

Even harder as a single parent.
