There are two teams of six players going up against each other. This is, in fact, 6v6. The Illuminati conspiring to ruin your video game experience does not change that.

Reddit and this place are different vis a vis their user bases.
You forgot to add “don’t enjoy OW anymore” option…
The main sub is also high on 6v6.
While I’m sure some of it is genuine preference for 5v5, CoW has taken a hard turn toward damn near unconditional support of the devs in everything ever since OW2 and the massive backlash from everyone else. For the longest time you couldn’t even so much as bring up 6v6 even as a possible Arcade option without being down-voted to oblivion.
I’m diggin 6v6. what I miss though was the gameplay loop for tank on flex que. I loved playing tank till I had a max stock of priority tickets then i’d play dps/support until I was out of tickets then flex again.
basically I liked playing all roles and doing it that way let me do that + my que times were always super quick.
All they need to do to make this mode perfect imo is give us modern tanks just nerfed down to appropriate levels. When I qued up as tank for this I wasn’t expecting to have old rein uncontrollable steering and only 1 fire strike and a 2k HP shield with 550 HP… Just make him modern rein - he feels so much better to play that way but nerf him down to something more appropriate for 2 tanks… Make his shield like 1k HP and make him 400-450 hp. Maybe even make his charge do less damage. Currently him being clunky to play and also giga buffed stats (for 2 tanks) is dumb.
Once blizzard irons that out 6v6 will be back baby.
It’s clear from this poll at least to me most people agree and once the balance is actually tuned properly I think even more will come over to the 6v6 side.

It’s a close call because Hog is trash in both modes, but currently I’m back to playing 5v5 as I prefer the Hog there so I guess I would vote 5v5.
I prefer old hog personally but new hog I guess is more modern and I know that’s just my preference. I would MUCH rather have 6v6 than draw my line at having old hog back. New hog works great in 6v6 too just tone him down a little since he’ll have a partner tank. bring his HP down to something more appropriate like 450-500 (since he has no shield) and dial his breather down a little and it’s perfect.
People will have to get used to tanks being a little weaker since there’s 2 of them now
Not sure you play hog, but with that HP he would die instantly before his breather even started. He’s massive and takes load of damage as soon as he peaks . He would be useless as a low HP tank. There’s a reason only a few tanks have low HP - they are much smaller and either have extra mitigation (shield+grasp) or instant boost (bubble, shout).

maybe. It’s gonna take a couple balance patches of 6v6 to bring it to a place where most of us are on board - I just think currently all the tanks are still just a bit too buff for the fact that there’s 2 of them.
IMO if you’re getting 1 shot combo’d out as hog my question would be why are you by yourself? You have a 2nd tank who should be helping you mitigate damage no?
I’d completely agree with you hog needs all that HP if he was a solo tank tho.
