My god pronouncing some of these names how they should be pronounced would give me a headache.

Because it does not make the game look as bland as many other games do. The lore part, the interaction all the stuff around makes the game feel much more alive. Some people do not care and just enjoy the gameplay, but for others its important that the game has a bit of lore build into it. Especially when heroes can the theorized and fantasized about who maybe comes next.

I thought Zenyatta’s name was Tekhartha Zenyatta.

Or something along those lines.
I just remember Zenyatta is actually his last name.

There’s no story to OW. It’s a pure PvP experience. To each their own, but I don’t care about backstory if I don’t learn it in gameplay.

You can engage with the game at any level you wish. But a lot of us did enjoy the few tidbits of story we got and by gosh were we hoping they wouldn’t do … what they did with the game.

It was all so exciting when we were waiting with baited breath for the next cinematic or event and all they’d deign to feed us.

Even when they suddenly decided that oops… that bit of lore is problematic so we’re just gonna pretend that never happened… it was cool that we got anything.

Here’s to hoping someday they just make it into an animated series.

There’s loads of story to OW. You just choose to reject the media that most of it is presented in, which is fine but it’s not the same thing as there being no story to OW.
