For things like Echo or Cree pf. I thought everyone tapped so you could aim more but I’ve seen a lot of people holding recently. Just kinda curious about which is done more.
I hold for Echo, I tap for McCree. I’m pretty sure I do the same for anyone else with similar shooty weapons. I hold with Pharah (granted I don’t play her at all), I tap with Ana. Tap with Ashe, hold with Mei.
So you hold for projectiles and tap for hitscan? Or is it not that simple and more character specific?
I’m not sure if it’s that specific, but also haven’t fully thought about it. Sounds like it might be though, quickly thinking about it, I also hold for Torb, Junkrat. Hard to say with heroes like Tracer, Sombra, and Bap. But I’m almost positive I do hold with Bap.
Up to your style.
Some people like holding the fire button which leaves it all to tracking and timimg. Others prefer to tap fire for more precision and to conserve ammo.
Me I’m in the realm of mixing it usually because I play spray to pray heros mostly and then sometimes I just need more control and become more patient with my shots like Torbjorn who needs more fire control than most heros.
Its also hero dependant. Like obviously a Widow is going to be using both styles. A Hanzo is clearly going to tap fire more and Winston wants to just hold it down all the time.
Heros like Reaper Differ. I tap on his shotguns, but have seen gameplay where its obvious the player is holding their fire button leaving everything else to timing and aim.
Tap for most heroes. Really fast-firing heroes who need consistent tracking like beams, or Soldier always hold. Bap somewhere in the middle.
I prefer to hold, which is why I gravitate towards heroes/weapons that require tracking aim and/or have a fast fire rate. Though when I do play heroes like Cassidy or Ana that require more precision with each shot, I tap.
I just wanted to tell you beep boop beep boop beep beep boop.
I don’t hold for anyone (unless that’s the specific design obviously). The only hero I felt inclined to hold for was Kiriko and I did some work get out of the habit because it hurts my accuracy.
Holding = less controll due to less adjustmens and laziness, unless you are playing pure tracking heroes, but even then trigger discipline comes into play.
Tap for everyone. Even sentry mode Bastion.
That’s right, don’t be dog water, be Tap water Kappa
