Actually the title already says it all, I am genuinely interested what the forum community thinks about it.
To improve my gameplay, I always watch the deathcam to see how I died and if I could have avoided the death. Recently, I come to the conclusion, that lots of my (few) deaths nowadays were hardly avoidable, especially as they came pretty surprisingly by a instant-kill ability/ standard shot. I find, that currently there are too many situations where you can die instantly, even when avoiding long sight-lines and clever positioning. Especially since the snipers became more popular recently, due to OWL and a rework, making them two of the top-three picked characters in QP (in comp, their pickrates rose a bit more moderate)
I find it especially jarring, as currently, instant-kill abilities are low-risk abilities. The snipers Hanzo and Widow can take time to get into position and get their shots lines up. And they will also get many instant-kills with pure luck, which makes the whole situation even worse.
I know, there are other abilities as well, that will instantly remove you (Doomfist combo, Junkrat combo, Roadhog combo, etc.), but I don’t want to make the OP too long, I think everyone got my point. What is your take on the situation?
I think when the OW team designed the game they were trying to make them feel OP in their own way.
This will probably end up shooting them in the foot but we’ll see
I don’t think anyone likes one-shots or unavoidable combos. I certainly don’t.

Yes.
One shots and two taps. It’s ridiculous if you can even take half a tanks health away with such methods.
Yes sometimes I do. (20 characters)
Play Roadhog, no longer have to worry about one shots. Short of D.Va’s ultimate or Junkrats ripetire if take a breather is on cooldown.
Hmm…one shot abilities?
Let’s see.
- Doomfist’s punch
- Widowmaker Headshot
- Hanzo primary fire headshot
- Bastion’s Tank mode projectiles
- Riptire
- Tracer’s pulse bomb
- DVa Nuke
- Skilled Roadhog shots at extremely close range with just his primary fire(the hook-shot is a combo, not a one shot)
- Boops knocking people off cliffs.
Besides these, there are no “one shot” abilities, as the rest are combos, not one shots.
And, honestly, I don’t feel any of these are an issue, as they all require either a lot of skill, or are an ultimate. (Hanzo’s overpowered Storm Arrows are definitely a problem, but hey, at least they can’t one shot!)

They’ve been part of the game design since before launch. I feel like if you bought the game and are only complaining about it now, or if you’ve actually been complaining about it for two years, then maybe Overwatch isn’t the game you’re looking for in the first place.
