Do you exercise?

My friend told me Gamers don’t exercise. I told him he was grossly generalizing and was wrong. Personally I hit the gym 4-5 days a week. Mostly cardio, but some weights when I feel like it.

Also I hear staying fit is healthy for the brain, which in turn makes you a better gamer, quicker to think/react to fast changing gaming environments, is there truth to this? Do the OWL Pros exercise?

In general I’d imagine you’re probably pretty rare. Most gamers I know (beyond very casual ones) spend a significant amount of time in front of their computer or console and generally don’t get much exercise. I’d have to side with your friend as a general statement, but there are always plenty of exceptions.

I don’t know if OWL pros physically exercise day to day but I do recall at least one of the teams mentioning they were implementing healthy diets for their members. It’s never a bad thing to be in good shape and eat well.

I do jogg or set of stairs sometimes. I’m also a waiter so I walk all day long.

Yes.
Cycling, swimming, rockclimbing, weights, rowing, running, etc.
Depending on my mood.
3-4 times a week.

I’m the same way, sometimes I hit all the cardio machines at the gym, or sometimes I just stay on the treadmill the entire workout.

I try to go for long runs through my local park on any night that I’m free, I’m young and well with the metabolism of a God. I do it purely for my mind. It lets me let go of all stress and feel good about myself.

edit: i admire you people who do cardio, i find that super boring and usually just do the bare minimum D:

That is an awesome feeling. I think it’s the same for us Cardio nuts when we see we just completed our miles in a shorter amount of time: Feels euphoric.

Just FYI this thread won’t be a good representation because people who don’t exercise are less likely to come in and tell everyone about it, than those who do.

I used to exercise, I don’t anymore.

Good point, I understand. I think that is why I included other questions in my original post; to help garner conversation on the topic.

I hate going to the gym so I got myself a treadmill a few years ago.

I’ve always liked endurance running, and I used to have a job that required standing 24/7 so I’ve always had good leg strength ^.^

More than 90% of gamers do sports or work out.

In general, I try to go out on morning runs around my campus on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. But lately I haven’t been able to get myself out of bed, so I definitely haven’t been doing well in that department

OWL have special trainer and do exercise, has you said it does help reflexes and thinking.

I do exercise while playing to avoid having to choose^^ (got weight next my desk for loading screen and waiting time and a reduced appartement bike under the desk to use while being sit^^

Wait, what? That’s a thing? I must google search this.

Edit: Well I’ll be damned… it’s a real thing.

Yeah constantly lifting dat king size borgar is heavy stuff.
