Do you enjoy this game?

Honest question : Do you legitimately enjoy playing this game?

I feel like whenever i play this game i get a surge of anger compare to other games it’s like not normal i can play cod and die like 10 times in a row and still wouldn’t be mad but when i play overwatch it’s a different story this game just fuels me with anger and i cannot legit have fun in this game no matter how i hard i try.

Tbh i wish i could quit this game but its like a drug im addicted to it and its fkn HORRIBLE. If i could leave this game i would but no matter if the balance changes are bad the people are toxic ill still come back to it…

I wish i could load this game up 1 day and actually have fun. ;/

I’ll enjoy this game once:

  • Roadhog gets nerfed
  • Zarya gets toned down a little bit
  • Ashe/Widow get nerfed heavily

Yeah - I’m at 2000 hours played and still love and enjoy every match win or lose. The trick is to turn voice and text chat off. It really is that simple. I love Overwatch, my fave game of all time. The game is brilliant once you mute everyone and can enjoy thesounds and sights without other people ruining them.

Isn’t roadhog getting nerfed?

Zarya i agree needs toned down a bit.

And tbh just delete widowmaker and tone ashe down

No, after the first couple seasons I realized the competitive mode ruins the game and esports just obliterated it.

Yes. But… I want the nerf now

EXACTLY.

y’know I’ve always wondered what overwatch would’ve been like without a pro scene i bet it would be 10x better than it is now.

I do wish OWL would hurry up and die. OWL is to blame for Sym 2.0’s deletion and Mei becoming reload simulator, among other stupid things.

I really don’t enjoy this game anymore.

I play it as a “time waster”. No longer with passion and care.

Years 1 and 2 were really good years of this game. The rest has been atrocious. Blizzard went back to their OLD habits they exhibited back in World of Warcraft that FLUSHED out that community.

I enjoyed the game the moment I dropped out of comp and just played casually.

Sometimes I guess, if your team mates are garbage the match will not be fun  of course.

Tough question that I am not qualified to answer

Ironical that OW is a team based game and you have to play it alone to have fun.
Not saying you aren’t right, but it is ironical.

Well it’s like if you were watching your fave film or listening to your fave song but had 5 idiots talking over it, and telling you it sucked you’d grow to hate the movie/song. Voice chat with strangers should never have been a thing in this game, they were naive making it auto join and encouraging it.

Used to but Sigma/Orisa are not viable and playing Hog or Zarya makes me not want to queue Tank.

Yeah this game is amazing. After 4 years of being out there it’s still easily the best FPS game out there and honestly after trying plenty of alternatives in order to try and take a break until OW2, the rest are just bad. They’re ruined by the polished design and massively hard and varying gameplay that ruthlessly rewards better players over bad ones and puts those with great gaming abilities (funny but accurate way to put it btw) on a pedestal that everyone wants to stand on

The thing is that there are a few things actively ruining this game that really pisses me off a lot of the time. The biggest ones are player behavior and balance.

Let’s start with the lesser one which is balancing. It’s absurd how the devs still have the audacity to make subjective balance changes on heroes deliberately favoring some (Ana/Rein/Tracer) over others (Brig/Moira/Orisa/Mei) instead of just ruthlessly balancing all the heroes equally around their realistic potential in high tier gameplay. If they would stop listening to all the malding about heroes and just focused on balancing heroes properly, everything would be much better in this game. We would have a bigger playerbase and everyone would be more satisfied with the game, even if some of the heroes that some players hate would be meta viable, because in an attempt to squelch malding towards certain heroes by making them a tad bit weaker all they do is just make even more players mad and quit the game. Especially counterplay shouldn’t have diminished over the years and one-tricks should’ve just been punished accordingly over the time as you can’t have both a game design that promotes/rewards switching and flexing while still having one-tricks enjoy the victory screen more than often. That is only possible if you keep spinning the meta around through big leaps in balance changes which is what happens quite often and which is one of the major things players quit the game for

Now the major issue in a game like this is player behavior. You can’t do anything about your teammates feeding, throwing, malding, afking and so on while you rely on them and it’s super tilting to see happen. Stepping into a game and seeing your Hog/Genji die on the flank for the 3rd time while you’re just bouncing around from the 4v6 fire that the opponents are throwing at you is one of the things that actively makes me alt+f4 the game because while you’d like to enjoy a proper game of OW, these players would much rather throw the game than change what they’re doing even if it’s not working. Just losing outright 4-5 teamfights by default to player behavior and then the whole round because of that is just disheartening. A functioning team absolutely crushes a non-functioning team even if the non-functioning team is better on average than the opponents. This issue has also been highlighted by the matchmaking leniency changes that now allow for example gold players to play with top 500 players in QP. They’ve actively pushed players out of the game by bad balance changes, low amount of content, flopping the OWL scene with their absurd rules and player fines, and repeating the same stuff over and over again instead of for example replacing the whole or majority of the balance team to a degree where this lenient matchmaking is required, but at the same time is one of the worst things they’ve done to the game. It killed the passion of the players since the top notch competitiveness in high tier pretty much disappeared and everyone lost their hope for the future of the game

But despite all this it’s still the best FPS game out there. We’re all just burned out from grinding it for years now repeating the same cycles again and again. When everything falls into their places: the meta is stable with no radical heroes like Widow being meta, the teams are balanced skill-wise, there’s no player attitude issues and both teams get to enjoy a proper game; the game is just absolutely amazing. Even losing those high quality games feels great regardless of everyone’s will to win. That’s just how amazing the game is when everything works. The issue is that more than often, it doesn’t…

I don’t.

The game has gone steadily downhill for me ever since that God awful Mercy/D.Va rework patch with sharp drops every time they butchered Sombra more among all the other terrible balancing.

At this point, no, I don’t really enjoy the game at all anymore, I’m just clinging to the vain hope that OW2 will magically save everything and the devs will finally learn to balance the game.
