Do you deserve the rank that your at

Im not saying yes or not, me personally climbing has never been easier, and there’s always people accusing others of being boosted or something else. Read a post the other day about deleting old ow1 ranks because ow2 is a completely different game, a lot of bias is added in 2 I keep seeing people say I don’t understand the ranking system (could literally explain that in like 5 seconds). No one ever mentions there % as well people will always just say I went 5-2 and didn’t rank up after the % clearly says at first you were higher then only 15% now your higher then 87%.

Also no matter how boosted someone is, if you don’t beling somewhere you won’t be there for long, Had 1 person say they went top 500 people still tried to gate keep himout of it but obviously those arguments failed because well of someone else is top 500 that means someone else isn’t.

What do y’all think? Do you subscribe to the forced 50/50 mindset, do you think ranking system is broke and your absolutely sure its not just you not knowing how it works. Or have you reached new horizons in ow2.

I feel like I’m a little bit boosted on my tank role. Back in OW1, I was stuck in bronze for a good reason; I was bad at it. But somehow in OW2, I’ve managed to climb all the way to silver 2.

Silver 2 isn’t that far away from gold, and I don’t think I’m adept with enough tank heroes yet to even be in this elo.

Support has been easier to climb too, but I did work my way up to gold back in OW1. And I only climbed from mid-gold in OW1 to high gold in OW2. So I don’t think I’ve been boosted that high for support thankfully.

DPS has been by far the hardest role to climb for me personally.

Probably.
The problem doesn’t come from getting “stuck”, its generally due to the absurd obscurity and lack of transparency of the ranks involved during a match and this pointless “Updates” every 5 wins or 15 losses.

When you don’t know who you are playing with and against, its frustrating. Even if you win.

I’m at a bad rank but honestly, I deserve to be lower.

Yes and no.
I’m currently pretty much where I was in OW1 in all my roles. The thing is that people have said several times that I have Diamond level Aim and even people who play in Diamond themselves, which I defeated in a direct comparison.
Am I really worthy of Diamond DPS? I do not know. I really have to play ranked seriously. (Last time i played was in OW2 S1)
What I do know is that a friend is ranked higher in DPS than me, even though we both know I’m the better DPS and he’s the better support.

This is legit just grinding, a lot of people get discouraged and play less when they lose hence the psychological aspect of the new ranking system. You essentially just tell yourself “All I have to do is win 5 I just have to win 5” compared to ow1 where you had to win 20. I myself hard grindined on support and start following all the basic rules like don’t play on the weekends, and if you go 4 and less then 3 skip a few hrs or the rest of that day and play game 5 later.

Just keep grind until you get to a higher rank tho was a strategy in ow1 it’s much more valuable in ow2, me and my friend are in the same predicament your in tho our support skills are relatively even (my shot callings better tho) but difference is I just play waaay more then him so Im masters and hes low diamond.

The amount of hard stuck ow1 plats who are now magically gm is ridiculous, they don’t play like a gm and they’re clearly boosted.
This ranked in this game is a joke.

They were hard stuck in ow1 this is ow2. If they don’t belong somewhere shouldn’t the “Actual” gms be able to easy kick them out? What about the people who have a 60% win rate in gm? Some people think I’d belong in bronze if your not in coms, what if there a good at communication and your just not hearing what there saying.

You can make more plays and have way more impact in ow2, your telling me that team full of “true” gms couldn’t beat a plat player?

It’s not hard to win games in “gm” when half of the players there are actual plat players…
It’s basically a mixture of ranks now instead of actual gm like ow1 lol.
On top of that I’ve seen people with 45% winrates + going 5-10 and still not ranking down!
I have an 80% winrate in gm against these players so yes they would be dropping if everyone else was actually gm, like I said before this isn’t the case.

Literally going negative and the game does nothing about it (and it’s extremely easy to climb back up).
It’s easy for me to see as a high elo ow1 player, they make constant mistakes, have terrible game sense, positioning, aim, CD usage, ult usage etc.
They’re just straight up bad players who have been boosted by ow2.

seems like a skill issue on your part.

Gm1 on multiple roles and 2 accounts :kissing_heart:
Keep trying bud!

If they were near their current rank in ow1, or s1/2 of ow2 then likely yes. If they jumped like 1000sr in s3 and were never anywhere near that rank before, probably not. A lot of people are so much higher in s3/4 than 1/2 or ow1.

I know yet you keep whining about literally everything.

seems like a skill issue.

It’s probably that sr boost that they did

You being a metal rank is a skill issue

im diamond 2. so im technically not metal.

Also i didnt get the rank inflation everyone keeps talking about, i was diamond in ow1 im diamond in ow2.

I did touch masters in season1 using genji but dropped back once i got back on tracer.

I do have a longway to improve skill wise to climb.

Eitherway im happy, you seem unhappy about lot of things

points to

skill issue.

Diamond is a metal rank.
Damn you can’t climb in the easy boosting game? Sounds like a skill issue bud :man_shrugging:t3:

chubby’s quote of 2023

This upgraded from skill issue to schooling issue.

dont skip classes to be in gm in ow and whine about it.

anyway diamond is not a metal its a carbon.
