you know there is a reason why rock paper scissors is not an olympic sport.

swapping is fine, but auto winning because someone presses H is dumb and boring.

players shouldn’t be forced to keep counter picking and should be allowed to carry on their pick if they have superior skill.

99,99% do not. Even if they think they do. Learn to swap.

except supports are not really countered and dps has minimal impact in this game.

If I’m having fun playing ball and some dude goes sombra just to make me miserable, I’ll just go chill by our healer and shoot people with my machine guns for the rest of the match. Might do like 50 damage due to the falloff, but then the sombra will be forced to just mess around with others instead.

its useless to argue with players about swapping… because that problem is solvable only through gamedesign

Even go back to 6 v 6 and have a better game is easy but hey, you dps mains kept crying about unkillable tanks that now we have this garbage of a game. you play dps/supp to play what you want ? Fine I play tanks and stick to what I wanna play, if team lose I can’t care any less but at least I play a hero I want. If someone just press q and autowin means the system is dumb as hell.

It generally really is a backline issue.

People really are dumb as hell when it comes to making synergy comps with WB and doomfist players. I’ve seen various doomfist players against me who are actually quite good and I simply abuse his stupid backline.

Oh, an Ana player? I need to get in her way ASAP. Shields. Put pressure on her. Look in her direction. Doomfist dove behind me? Time to press W.

Its backline vs tank against backline vs tank and whoever has the best anti-tank tools for a given job tends to win out. You can say the tank can swap and force a direct confrontation of tank vs tank.

One person’s stupidity on dying destroys the entire team’s ability to win a fight since now the remainder have to somehow live without feeding to retreat or somehow win a fight 1 person down. Its generally much easier to kill 200hp heroes. You have 4 of them running around. Kill anyone of them and fights a win.

Dunno what planet you live on. In OW1 tanks were very much killable. dps vs tank was equal. It is in OW2 that is a dumb matchup with how much mitigation tanks have. Problem with OW1 was literally one tank called sigma.

Truer words have never been uttered in this forum.

If the tank is playing dive, guess what team, play dive too. If you won’t, its not neccesarily the tanks fault if things go badly.

Supports are not “countered” the same way a Tank or a DPS is countered because their effectiveness does not 100% depend on them surviving AND doing damage, they also have healing as an option to get value.

You do counter them by providing more value or reducing their value or making them so stressed that they can’t do anything properly.

I do not really feel as if it is feasible to dive with Ball to be honest. He just has a huge in and out playstyle and the Piledriver is better suited for a poke character to capitalize on. I prefer playing Soldier with Ball than Tracer. You just get way too much heat if they do not have a Frontline to focus and I struggle to follow up on Ball’s engage with her. He also leaves immediately and traditional supports struggle to heal Tracer AND Ball at lower ranks making the entire process disjointed.

That’s just my experience and what has gotten the best results. Especially if their tank decides to walk down our team. Soldier is very adaptable and can oppress their tank if necessary or off angle and secure picks off Ball dives. He is also sustainable by himself which let’s our supports be more aggressive.

I tried Reaper, but he is very tricky because he is too slow to keep up with Ball and getting stranded as him is WAY worse than Tracer. I would likely need to play this soft dive style with Genji instead, but my blade game is embarrassing and is what deranked me in the first place.

If I pick Ball, Ball it is until the end of the game. Someone has to hunt those pesky Sombras down. If I switch I’m defeating myself.
