In order for this to work you would have to make all the other tanks and a lot of the damage cast unplayable. Why because D.va’s issues are entirely with her own kit and trying to buff/nerf around that would destroy balance worse than simply buffing her. Simply trying to make her current healthpool viable as is much more work and more nerfs than people realize because its still center mass and even nerf damaged to the entire game is not guaranteed to fix it. So the much saner option is to actually imporve d.va rather than attempting to make numbers that aren’t cutting it work.

She is still average. She doesn’t need the armor just to make it noob friendly of a hero, most players dont know how to play the hero and play it like a normal frontline reinhardt and thats why they get melted.

Well, better than rein and orisa in GM.
Not to mention, one of the best heroes in OWL with a whoppin 55% pickrate.
Well better than Rein.
Orisa is doing fine, and meta in Top500.
But Rein buffs will probably shift that.
And better than winston too.
So it does put her in the average tier. Plus, as mentioned before, she rips and tears in OWL.

She very much might not be the best but she’s average. And is outright the best hero in OWL.
Btw I think this argument is not exclusive to d.va and think a lot of the reason we get horrible metas is dancing around the problem with side fixes see the various changes that don’t actually change metas but never do. See the many Bastion changes or other struggling heroes who get buffs that don’t actually fix them. This is them actually changing whats needed and not dancing around with things that don’t matter like the previous attempts to change her where. Or say the last couple changes to symmetra and she still has numerous problems.
I love the unprovable and totally not biased (/sarcasm) argument that its just people don’t know how to play. Especially when talking about a hero where a lot of people of played since launch and most certainly know what they are doing on but still not seeing success. Its not a learn to play issue at all. Its the other options do more for less effort than it takes to play
By owl you mean the leauge that hasn’t played since October and thus missed several months worth of patches?

That’s not even true. Like a couple years ago that was true. She hasn’t even been that great in OWL since her DM nerf.

Yes the league. Missed several patches, still at the end, double shield was meta and she still did better than other tanks since dva has her maps. Neither did dva receive any balance changes in a long time.
Puts her on a bit near the worse side. This week stats aren’t the most stable.
Even it she swapped places with Zarya, she’d still be below average.

Making arguments that revolve around owl where the players make it their lives goal to git gud with a character have no weight with me. I don’t have the time to practice this game that much and I don’t have grandmaster team mates to play with.
99.9% of the player base is not on that level. Let the 99.9% of dva mains who aren’t top 500 have something nice for the love of all that is holy. Dva needs this and more.
