As a support main, it’s physically painful to watch DVas dive in at full HP and fly back to me at 50 HP. Like yes you stayed in the mech, but the enemies just got 550 HP of ult charge because you got bored waiting for us to regroup and wanted to try and get a pick. Also PSA, if there’s a reasonably high charged Zarya keep that mech away from her at all costs, having an enemy Grav every other team fight is not helping the team
The most annoying thing for me, as a support, playing with a DVA, is when the DVA is attempting to do poke damage from 50 meters away.
Like say Temple of Anubis 2 point on attacking. It’s annoying to constantly heal a DVA doing 2 damage to the enemy from a distance while she’s basically giving everybody massive amounts of ult charge.
Like seriously, quit feeding. You do like zero damage from that far away.
You’ve never had a Dva DM a grav, or after everyone gets caught in grav, DM the dragon ult?
You’ve never seen a Dva boost and wipe out the enemy Pharah in seconds?
Seems like you are upset about bad tanks in general, as every tank has a massive HP pool and is capable of feeding the enemy team ults (see: Rein charge 1v6). Dva isn’t in a good place at the moment, granted, but she can still get easy picks and make it back to the team.
That’s beyond the point tho.
OP is pointing to the fact that most D.va players(Roadhog is also a severe culprit of this) think that going in and getting out alive is always a good thing because they didn’t died.
I have legit lost games because I had a D.va diving in to kill a DPS and coming back with less than a 100 health twice a fight. Their Zarya was farming her hard and ulting almost once every fight.
They’re a player down and you also get ult charge from the healing. Seems like a reasonable trade off to me.
What would you rather D.Va players do? Aside from switch.
Honestly going in and surviving is better than the alternative, assuming they built up as much charge as they might of given the enemy. The real issue is most support Ults kind of suck and it’s not a fair trade off to give enemy 550hp worth or Ult while the 550 hp worth of support Ult is usually not equal.
But yeah when I play Dva I find her far more useful near the main tank to provide dmg and cover for her tank while eating the larger projectiles that come your way. As for plinking dmg from long range, it’s fine if your not taking too much dmg in return. Often you scare people away from the choke the second they take dmg, even if it’s less than a point.
The main problem with a Dva on the team are which healers you have. Dva is a huge sink hole to try and heal. 600hp (or close to it if she’s still alive) takes a full 10 seconds to heal as Mercy, 20 seconds as Zen and some where in between for every one else. Brig’s armor pack being one of the worst in that it takes 4 of them separated by a 5 second cool down each to heal her up. All of that is considering she isn’t taking any more dmg.
For single target healers that is a LONG time to ignore the rest of the team to try and heal the Dva. Imo a team with a Dva really needs a lucio/brig or even a moira just for the AoE healing. Mercy, Zen and to some degree Anna can really struggle to heal such large HP pools while still healing the rest of the team. Even freaking health packs generally seem to do very little to healing her tbh.
people in general don’t realize when they’re feeding
d.va and roadhog just have more HP to donate to the enemy than any other character
in general sitting idle and doing nothing feels wrong in this game - always gotta be doing something - so somewhat explains the solo excursions
Sorry to say it but that’s the type of tanks you will get at your level.
You will never change them. The Best thing you can do is change yourself and climb higher to get a different level of tanks.
