Dive is best meta

No other meta compares

Any naysayers shall be met with ruthless aggression

That is all

I find it overated and not fun at all. Not to play, play against or watch

If anything rein zar brawl is the best

I mean its highs are nice if your gm but anything less is just free for all

Case and point just played dive vs dive no one in voice got 2 picks and no one went to point till the 1st pick made it back sooooo fuuuuun

Rush is fun too besides Reaper/ Mei making it low skill. Double sniper had some of the nicest plays.

GOATS and double shield ruined the game such a shame. Dive’s going to be strong in OW2.

I prefer brawl
Just my opinion though

Any form of 2/2/2 meta with Rein, Winston, D.Va or Zar make the absolute best metas and DPS and Support diversity is always much higher in these metas

Even when Yourself did a survey on it, it was clear by a longshot that people much prefer these Tanks being meta

I’m play in the EU region so Rein/Zarya rush is incredibly common here even in high ranked matches

I’m so sick of rush and I really wanna see dive again

Dive was the best meta because there was no meta. Nobody even played against dive because you really only saw it in gm and masters maybe. Nearly every hero was viable and everyone picked what they want because there was no meta. Dive took too much coordination for lower ranks to play so it just led to everyone picking what they liked and sticking to it. That was peak overwatch. People didn’t hate dive, they just hated tracer

Dive and Brawl are really the best metas, poke is just boring.

One can only hope.

Especially from a tank perspective.

Dive and Brawl encourage active tank playstyles where a balance of caution and aggression win fights. Whatever the hell you want to call what the current tank meta is actively punishes those playstyles while promoting hanging back and cowering until something happens.

It might just be because I’m a Lucio OTP but I heavily prefer when tanks do something besides sit back and cower waiting for someone to make a mistake so they can stunlock them to death.

Whatever, I will surely get OW2 beta and tanking will surely be much better then. /copium

I liked triple tank, I’d say nearly every hero was viable back then

I didn’t like triple tank but every hero was 100% viable back then, compared to now where if certain heroes work within a niche, they also get easily countered due to a lack of the team composition’s total ability to coordinate, in order for that niche to fully be utilized.

Even though I didn’t like triple tank, after a lot of testing & experimenting, I had found a composition that easily countered & survived triple tank, a few months before Role Queue happened.

I was so sad because I didn’t get enough chances to utilize the comp, since I couldn’t always get the entire team to switch to those specific set of 6 heroes back then.
But when they did, rolling the 3 Tank/3 Support enemy teams felt SOOOO Satisfying!

Lol, no. Most of the “defense heroes” were awful at that time and heroes were way more niche back then than they are today. Sombra, Mercy, Winston, and Reaper weren’t doin so great at that time either.

As to the OP, dive was fun for tanks and dps, but support felt pretty bad at the time. Honestly, it felt like your job was just to survive long enough for your team to get value. Playing Winston back then was hella fun though.

Dive is “bully supports” meta. Not a fan.

It tends to lead to lose-lose dilemma, when strong supports are vulnerable to dive, while anti-dive supports can’t support dive.

During dive meta, tanks like Rein and roadhog were too buggy to be played consistently so Winston and dva were essentially running lobbies. It wasn’t too hard to play it too even in low srs. I would play it all the time and I was a gold player at the time. Supports didn’t really have an answer to being bumrushed. And if dps players picked non mobility characters they got dove with the rest of them. If the other team didn’t run dive the match was free. Especially since dive could control more of the map than any other comp.

OG dive was great if you were tank or dps. If you were support, it SUCKED! Especially since Zen was such a vital part but you literally were ALWAYS the first one to die.

Now though? I’d say dive is a lot more balanced. Definitely prefer it over Rush (Winston > Reinhardt).

Dive caused Brig. Enough of a reason to call it the worst meta in existence. Like, what other meta required this overpowered monstrocity of a hero just to counter it?

Are we talking about the same triple tank?
I’m concerned now

If you were Mercy or Lucio, dive could be manageable, as you could slip away relatively easy.

But if you were any of less mobile supports, it would be most painful meta.

I have no problem with dive being meta as long as there are good options to counter against it
