Sometimes, when exiting from the Overwatch Workshop Editor and reentering the game (by pressing Escape twice), the entire display glitches and becomes frozen. The game is no longer playable and the settings can no longer be accessed or saved. This typically happens when I exit the Editor during the Play of the Game or Victory Pose stage of the game.
This is a big issue as workshop settings cannot be saved when the bug occurs, so all workshop edits may be lost.
For people who have been affected by the bug, I have an okay solution to recover your settings:
- Don’t exit the Overwatch client! Wait for a sufficient amount of time for the autosave to kick in (maybe 15 mins)
- Restart client
- Create a brand new custom game
- Go to presets, choose autosave.
