Why is Kiriko’s witch skin discounted on the first day it’s released? Is it a limited-time thing or is this a scummy attempt to make your product seem like a steal when the reality is that the discounted price is the base price?
That’s just psychological.
While it’s an absolute scam.
It’s too make it look like you’re getting a good deal
It’s not some mistake that’s for sure because they could have just changed the price even after patch dropped. All psychological like Diablo Immortal 800% value packs
They try to scam you thats what it is.
It’s to grab people’s attention. People like discounts, and are more likely to buy something if it has a discount on it.
Technically the discount makes no sense since you can’t buy the skin or anything else separately which, if I remember correctly, is illegal.
THIS! THIS! THIS!
This needs way more attention
I thought they had a disclaimer that pretty much said the price of the bundle is relative to the price of everything in it added together
Wow, that’s true.
I am out of words Blizz…
That’s exactly the case. The items will presumably be available in the store individually later (The way the store works is arguably pretty scummy in itself though, so no excuses there)
this is a practice that is not just in this game but also in real life. I am a college student that works at a grocery store and i will tell you now the prices get slowly jacked up (few cents a week) so that in a few weeks time when the product is a dollar more they can put a sale on it saying it is a dollar off when the product for the store has not changed in cost to order or get delivered. have watched it happen way too many times around holidays.
Food for thought when you go shopping and see sale numbers.
The discount doesn’t matter if the bundle is the ONLY way to buy the items. If you could buy items separately, the discount would be justified.
But how would you get a discounted bundle price when the individual items cannot be bought? Reminds me of Diablo’s “800% value”.
You can, just requires waiting for them to appear in the shop.
Makes no sense without being there, too.
True, but that is even if they do appear in the shop in the first place (which they probably will at some point).
The problem is that the items should’ve been available separately from the very start to justify giving this bundle a discount. You can’t put a discount on a bundle of items when it is the only way (currently) to buy a certain item.
For the record I definitely think that the shop is a ridiculous system altogether and relying on FOMO as heavily as they are by having a tiny number of cosmetics each day on a random rotation is absolutely scummy.
However, I will maintain that the only issue with these “discounts” is the way that they are presented. Right now, they’re not doing anything that bundles don’t usually already do. They take the values of all the items within them and make them cheaper to make the bundle more appealing.
If they had simply framed this “discount” as a notification about how many coins you’d be saving by buying the items through the bundle rather than displaying it as a time-limited sale (“X% off!”) then I don’t think anyone would have an issue with it.
(That’s not to say people wouldn’t have an issue with the prices themselves though)
its just a scam free to play games do. charge a ridiculous amount of money for something then slap a random “discount” label on there to make it seem like its not as terrible of a deal as it is.
They’ll probably be put into the shop to buy separate after the event. It says “for any items not regularly offered individually comparison is based on price for similar items offered individually in the same tier and category.”
Im not defending blizzards scummy practices in any way, but unfortunately the print is there lol
