I know zen doesn’t get a lot of talk on these forums but that nerf is a HUGE change to the game both in terms of dive comp and GOATS.
Zen has literally been the go to healer for the pro scene outside of the old Triple tank era where Ana briefly over took him.
He’s needed this for so long. This was the one blot against an otherwise perfectly balanced hero.
As a zen main I’m completely fine with this. It’s just a nerf to your teams output. While keeping his personal damage output much the same that 0.2 damage buff though.

Ah ok. I was a bit confused about that. But I see it now thank you. It’s more of a nerf to Zen’s team rather than himself which I think is the perfect kind of nerf for him.
He was always the most balanced hero to me since the beginning.
I think people are overrating it to a degree.
Your team are losing 5 damage per 100 from it.
It doesn’t mess up any normal breakpoints to my knowledge beyond making it miss 200 damage when being used with a 120 damage attack that is damage boosted.
As your damage is moving up to not change your personal damage on occasions when you are shooting a non-discorded target your damage will be higher.
It’s a 5% nerf. It’s incredibly annoying for people trying to keep track of bonuses, but does it really mean much?
For an ability with no cooldown and almost non-existent counterplay, I think it’s a good change.
Discord orb is huge, yes, but I don’t know if this nerf will be. Zen’s still the best hero for the job, and 5% is… eh. Unless this changes any important “breakpoints” I don’t think it’ll be very significant.
Exactly I literally have played every veriation of zen and you won’t even notice the difference with this change. At the end of the day people should watch health bars not calculate damage numbers.
It is significant, but not hugely so.
Tracer is still one shot by Widow and such, tanks have too much hp for a small change like this to matter noticeably.
The fact of the matter is when it comes to healers (and tanks) being over picked it’s more about what are the alternative picks. Zen is an off healer and is only in competition with Bridgette and Lucio.
I am kind of glad it got nerf as I was the only person who seen the problem with Discord not to mention that it is incredible powerful for not having a cooldown at all.
I was hoping for the damage received got nerfed to 20% at least, but we shall see how this 25% works in game and in PTR.
Zen is currently being used as a “main” healer (although this forums idea of a main healer and how main healers are actually played is different) and was during dive pre-moth meta.
