Direction of Torb rework is wrong

A missed opportunity, blizz should have made torb a support. He’s a engineer, he builds stuff.
Why try to make him more DPS when you should embrace his armor packs and turret and make him a support. They could have taken the shield generator that sym had and make it a build object for him. Build a health dispenser that beams health to near by allies similar to orisa’s supercharger beaming damage.
Here’s another idea, why not have brig and torb dependent on each other, Father and daughter fighting together? Everyone complains about brig being OP (I think she’s fine) why not make it a counter to pharamercy?

They could have done several things, to me it sounds like the blizz team is out of ideas and grasping for straws.
We don’t need more DPS, we need more supports.

Because they didn’t want to make him a support, they want to make him a counter to armor.

He is a counter to armor?

God, after seeing people’s reactions to them changing Symmetra to damage, just imagine the outcry if they changed Torbjorn to support. Yikes.

His new ultimate does bonus damage to armour.

WHAT ARMOR?
Brig and Torb are the only ones providing armor.

Tank’s armor, bastion’s armor etc
Also, Torb doesn’t provide armor anymore

The direction of Torbjorn is correct… if Torbjorn were Reaper. But, like, since he is not. I agree with you. Blizz, baby, pls, make Reaper like you just made Torb-kun-desu.

He’s a DPS now.

And his ult is pretty good in denying area alongside his turret.

Heroes affected by armor: Bastion, Brigitte, D.Va, Orisa, Reinhardt, Torbjörn, Winston, Wrecking Ball.

And all the armor Brigitte gives to her team, Torb will melt it with his ult, it’s a pretty big buff.

The armor that Brigitte provides plus the armor that multiple heroes have added to their base health.

Which is ridiculous because his entire character is centered around armor. He even has voice lines congratulating Brigitte on her armor

Torbjorn still has armor in his kit, he just can’t provide it to his teammates.

Well ****, blizz didn’t do a very good job differentiating those heroes that are armor based. I always though it was health or hit point base and the yellow and orange were armor added on.

To add on, they could have make healers actual healers and torb and brig engineers to repair armor. I mean blizzard could have change how the game is played and even more skilled.

I’ll enlighten you the thought process of the rework:
“Hm… By putting Mercy’s Ult to E, we got a huge success.”
"True. Putting Symmetra’s Ult to E was also a huge success/contributed to the huge success of the support changes.
“Let’s put Torb’s ult to E.”

I’m actually really happy about most of the changes in these patch notes. Not so sure about the Pharah changes though. I’m hoping it won’t be a problem because they buffed Mccree and Soldier: 76!

I’m also glad that they removed armor pack, now increasing extra health is just Brigitte’s thing. I don’t miss seeing 200 hp heroes on 575 health!

As if we didn’t have enough DPS heroes already. Its the same BS with Symmetra, its almost as if they only focus on shlt that might look interesting in Overwatch League…

Geoff literally specified which heroes have armour and which provide armour to their team…

Is that with Brig ult and her “E” and torb’s armor pack?

But in-game, it shows as white health bar for those heroes, and doesn’t say in the help screen.

This was back when Brig’s ult did 150 armor and shield gen was still a thing. 200+150+75+75+75 (repair pack) = 575 for 5 seconds. Then you have semi-permanent 500 health.

What are you on about? The healthbar over the enemies heads shows their health/armor/shields. Each ‘bar’ means 25 health by the way!

No, if you play bastion, in the lower left, the health bar is white, doesn’t indicate he has armor, but does when brig or torb armor pack is used, which becomes orange or yellow on the tip.
