I play hitscans (Widow, Cree, Soldier) and have noticed a big difference between servers supposedly in the same region? One game will be 30-40ms and another will be 70-90ms. Just wondering if anyone has found a fix or a way to block the servers?
I mean bargain bin servers aren’t good even if the average ping might look alright. There are other things that matter too like jitter, occurrences of packet burst, and the same stuff matters for nine other players. Blizzard can’t spend more on servers because they’re not making enough money to justify that.
The idiots only host servers in the Netherlands and Finland I believe. Even Dutch people don’t get below 15ms to NL servers, and nobody cares about Finland.
They should get proper servers in Germany, London, France, etc
There are servers in Netherlands and in Finland.
So they have quite a bit of difference in geographical location; ping difference is quite expected depending on where you live etc.
Hit ctrl-shift-N when you are in game and you will see which servers you are logged on.
It should be visible in the top left - AMS1 - netherlands. GEN1 - finland.
Oh that explains why I have so many Finnish players in my game…
On topic it explains why some games feel more wonky than others to downright laggy!
