I was high plat in support in OW1… I went 7-2 in my placement matches, hard carrying most of them… and I placed Bronze 2?

They want you to climb the ranks so you feel a sense of accomplishment ! 
OW 2 is much harder than OW1.
Seriously, its a bug, but it should have been corrected by now.
They said you’d probably place lower than you were just wait 1 maybe 2 more seasons and you’ll probably be back where you were
Climb back out like everyone else.
The vast majority of the game placed Bronze. It doesn’t take long to get out with the boost they recently put in.
The bug sucks but everyone else is climbing out too so there’s people of all skill ranges down there.

oh they have a “boost”? like plus more sr or something? i did get out of bronze recently with dps and support. with support i went from bronze 2 to silver 2 after 14 games… was surprised by the big jump. im silver 3 with dps but started bronze 3. i need 1 more game for 14 wins for tank but i get the feeling ill still be bronze since i started bronze 4 as tank
I was only mid plat in support, I only played it for placements also, and I got Gold 4. So you definitely got swindled some rank.
Yeah they did a thing where it looked at everyone’s stats and performance to see if they really belonged down there and if you don’t you will get a boost to your SR gains.
I was plat and got placed in bronze 5 due to that glitch.
I’m climbing out but it’s still a hassle. Lol though it is fun carrying games as Brig.
They put every player 2-3 tiers lower than they were before. Apparently there is also a bug which puts some people in bronze which dont belong there like GM players.
Yeah remember that hard work you put into to not have to play bronze…well tough, back to bronze oh and you are going to have diamond players in there too that are trying to climb out as well.
Our plan is that it makes the game more fun it people get placed in the basement and climbs their way out,
Have you been away from the game for a long time? They substantially reduced the SR of such players.
I was mid gold dps in OW1 and placed bronze 3 second placement i jumped to silver 2. I haven’t played more comp yet but i think placements are just still wonky
they did it to artificially make people play the game to get back to their rank. There was no reason to drop sr for most players apart from those boosted in gm. Basically another completely mismanaged decision by Aaron and the gang of idiots who develop this game.
also with the reduction of smerf accounts manipulating the SR system, you are probably placed correctly
Honestly same thing here, was consistently between masters/high diamond in OW1
And get Gold in OW2 now which is just wild
