I though not. It’s not a story the Rivals would tell you. It’s an Overwatch legend.

Darth Dev was a Dark Lord of the developers, so powerful and so wise he could use the hotfixes to influence the patch notes to create balance. He had such a knowledge of game development that he could even keep the game he cared about from dying.

The dark side of game development is a pathway to many patches some would consider to be… unnatural.

He became so powerful… the only thing he was afraid of was losing his job, which, eventually, of course, he did. Unfortunatelly, he taught his company everthing he knew, then his company laid him off in his sleep.

Ironic. He could save the game from financial ruin, but not himself.

It is all the propaganda of dark side. Darth Jeff wasn’t laid off in sleep, he quit by own choice, because he could not agree with force users of higher ranks demanding much much harsher monetisation of the force.
And the balance he created was also questionable. He is fully responsible for Darth Brig launch, for example. The abomination of force that created so massive distortions in the balance of power that all genji and tracer mains could feel it anywhere in the galaxy.
