Since the patch update on May 20, 2025, I noticed that Sombra got nerfed—which I understand—but I also feel like there might be a bug affecting her. After the update, there seems to be a delay or glitch when using her L-Shift (Translocator) or Q (EMP) after decloaking.
Before the patch, using an ability while invisible would cause her to instantly decloak and cast the ability at the same time. But now, it feels like pressing L-Shift or Q causes her to decloak first, then there’s about a 0.5 second delay before the ability actually goes off.
That small delay gives enemies just enough time to react, and during that moment I can’t shoot, use abilities, or engage properly. It completely throws off the timing for flanks and makes her combos harder to pull off.
As someone who mains Sombra, I noticed this change immediately after the update. Could you please look into whether this is an intentional change or a bug? Thank you!
One of the nerfs you mentioned was to her decloak. From the patch notes: Fade in time increased from 0.15 to 0.3 seconds. This means her decloak animation is longer and she can’t perform actions during this time.
This is how Sombra functioned in the past when her decloak was also longer. You would press a button to decloak first, then use your ability. Otherwise you would use Virus and probably miss because it’s automatically going off after a longer decloak. Or be unable to make a last second change to your translocator throw at the end of the decloak.
