Did the OW2 beta stealthily drop D.Va's sexuality?

In the new character interactions, D.Va mentions to Ashe that she saw her on a wanted posted with a “cute guy”. After being disgusted at the assumption it was Cassidy, she clarifies that she means Bob.

Robosexuality is an actual sexuality which is very uncommon now, but is predicted to become a lot more common in the future, with some experts believing that marrying robots could happen within our lifetime.

As well as this, we’ve already seen examples of Robosexuality in the Overwatch universe, when in the Alive short, the crowd of people listening to Mondatta speak included a handful of what appeared to be human-omnic couples.

Or it could be a throwaway line. But I’d be interested to know what the official stance on this is

Was probably just a diss directed towards Cree

I mean Bob is a really a nice guy. Ashe being protective for Bob.

This seems more like rule 34 territory.

Seems like you answered your own question. This topic is a huge stretch.

Cute guy does not mean you’re attracted to him. I can call a guy cute despite him not being my type or attractive in my eyes.

Maybe, maybe not

No amount of telegraphing this ingame or in outside media will keep people from rioting against the idea though

Well yeah…But remember how in the initial Widow trailer they had what looked like a robot+human couple in the crowd around Mondata.

Heck, or maybe she’s acting as a hookup for her Mecha’s AI to get frisky.

As predicted by Futurama

i think it just shows that she sees omnics as people, which is nice. i don’t think she’s attracted only to robots. it’s just a wholesome line, don’t overthink it.

Sure thing but what are the chances of a 19-years-old to have a crush on a old looking butler robot?

Well, I think we’ll just realistically chalk that up to how a thing can be cute, without wanting to get frisky with it.

Because I’m sure Blizz doesn’t need another things tone deaf intersectionality issue to worry about.

This is why we can’t have interactions like this.

Everyone calls bob cute, it doesn’t mean your attracted to them. It’s like calling a dog cute. :skull:

To elaborate, you can 100% call someone cute platonically, but the delivery of the line was done in such a way it felt non-platonic

“Aw, that’s such a cute dog you have there.”
-“STAY AWAY PERVERT!”

I mean
I also think Bob is a cute guy, but I am in no way attracted to robots.
I think it was just a compliment to Bob and a jab at Cass.

It’s possible but I wouldn’t read into it too much.

I’m another one thinking she’s just taking a jab at Ashe regarding Bob, if not also to slyly provoke her about McCassicree.

Has everyone forgotten about her mech, Tokki? It’s not like Hana doesn’t spend most of her time in the thing, and when she’s not, we’re almost always seeing her doting over it, wrench in hand, tending to its every need back at base. It’s like they’re already married to each other. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Oh, you :smirk:

That reminds me, when are we getting that Hollywood movie poster D.Va skin again??

The delivery of a many, if not all, of the new voice lines are far more dramatic, if not downright juvenile, and very out of character compared to what we’re used to in OW1. Especially after hearing all of Mercy’s new lines in particular, I just can’t take anything they say seriously anymore.

Wait what?? Are you serious right now because I genuinely cannot tell…
