Its both sad and eye opening how much this game including others affect people. If you get to a point where a game causes more frustration than enjoyment its a clear sign you need to stop playing by taking a break or completely moving on.
I have not logged in over a month and its had a huge impact on my mood, annoyance & anger levels but most importantly stress. I really envy people who can still enjoy OW but I personally cant do it anymore.
Please take care of yourselves and most importantly your mental health!
Indeed. Felt the exact same way when I quit league.
Life has many sides and many things you can do. If you arenāt enjoying something, simply find something else to do that you will enjoy. For the unlucky people unable to enjoy anything, something is wrong somewhere and you may need outside help with that.
For me itās the other way around. I enjoyed playing OW but rl things and other games which āforceā me to play daily for time limited content ruined my moodā¦
Yes, well it is impossible to create a game with a perfect balance. The main problem with overwatch is that the dev team planned the game to make it āUnfairā āCheapā and without āHonorā. With all the RnG they put on it. Especially the CANCER of ow is āPlay to counterā.
The dev team used lazy kids to switch characters to win games instead of getting better with their āMains.ā
Overwatch is the pure essence of an UNFAIR and RNG game that is why it alters its players so much and that is why many have already gone to other games.
Until play to counter is removed, OW will be a competitive game mockery. Itās āFrustawatchā
For me itās the other way around. I went through a break up with the love of my life, and Iāve used OW to distract myself from him. Gaming lets you escape reality.
You are doing the right thing brother but I do suggest that you reflect on what bothers you and try to solve it because itās just a thing in the end, the problem is within us not the thing.
I think it comes down to competitive games in general. In order to remain somewhat of a good player you need to invest time to not get rusty.
In my case I dont play OW on the weekdays because im too busy with work so I only get saturday sunday but even then it could only be 1 day a week. I always feel rusty, my aim is off because again I dont invest alot of time in the game so naturally this causes frustration.
Sad and pathetic the devs have allowed so many cheaters, smurfs, and toxic players to take over this game to the point that regular, casual gamers have NO chance of enjoying it anymore. Theyāve literally given these sad little people the keys to the game and abandoned it, letting them poison something we all loved for many reasons with their troll mentalities.
In game where heroes have impactful and different abilities always will be heroes that are better against specific ones until this game is pure gungame
Itās more looks like YOU were lazy to switch actually because it is a foundation of this game and it what makes it different from others
No
Its because Devs shifted this game to FPSy style with generalising characters with reworks, shifting supports to healers and tanks to fat DPS
Overwatch was promoted heavily on the ability to swap heroes. So if you donāt like that aspect then you are playing the wrong game. Itās like going into Fortnite and complaining that you can build structures, playing chess and complaining that you canāt do more than one move at a time etc etc.
Take that away and its no longer Overwatch.
One of the biggest issues with Overwatch is the players the come into it, complain about its core ideas and want it to change into a generic shooter.
This is good advice to take in regardless of which game it is about. Iāve had several breaks from Overwatch during the years, but I have never felt annoyance, anger or such about it.
The only game Iāve felt that way about was last time raiding in WoW back in legion days. I have played maybe 1-2 months of WoW since then. Mostly just stay away from it.
Any game that makes you feel annoyed, upset, angry and such is bad for you. Just take a break from it, either for a while or forever.
Tbh i do feel you! When i started playing back in 2017 i played nonstop 24/7 EVERYDAY!
And eventually it got to a point where the game really became unhealthy for me and i became so frustrated and annoyed almost everyday and also a bad mood because of how much i used to olay.
So i actually took a break from playing ow, the only thing i would do was log in on events and get skins that i liked and maybe played a couple of games but that was it.
I had my focus on pretty much other stuff instead to spend my time.
But now iām back again and playing pretty much everyday but itās not like intemse 24/7 without breaks, i do take breaks and watching yt vids and other stuff online and then i might log in and play again.
And now i feel like all that anger and frustration is gone because i donāt play so long, so i can pretty much enjoy the game to the fullest again and be happy playing it.
Maybe itās also because iāve figured out who to main lol so i focus playing that hero most of the time and have fun doing it.
I agree that getting angry or frustrated over a video game is quite silly. Video games should be something that relax you and lower your stress levels after work and unfortunately OW does the opposite. I know that my job is stressful and that 100% has an impact on my mentality in general.
To note, I have been playing OW since Beta and theres definitely many things I wish were different but thats a completely different story. Just because I dont enjoy it anymore it doesnt mean the game is bad but just not resonating to a personal level. Who knows though, they might swing it out the park with OW2 and bring so many veterans back
Same thing. I havenāt played the game in a month, and I feel sooo much better. No other game gave me this much frustration as Overwatch did, and leaving the game was the right choice for me. Now I play games that are actually fun and where the devs care about their playerbase, like Factorio or Deep Rock Galactic. And I doubt Overwatch will ever come close to these two in terms of āfunā and āengagingā.
