We are not talking about Mercy x someone community ships. So, is there any lore information about in? I heard somewhere that she has a lot of fans, she was popular and that she was supposedly sent flowers and love letters. Is that true or someone just lied again?
none that i know of but she is with genji right now in the lore
It used to be heavily implied that Mercy and Genji were an item at one point. They exchange letters when they were apart. They spent a lot of time with each other during nights at OW HQ etc.
But that was usually hated by Mercy players (I don’t know why most Mercies I met hate genji with such a passion tho), so Blizzard never confirmed anything. And now they are jumping on pharah and mercy are couple ship, which I think is not smart on their part!

For me Pharah Mercy and Genji Mercy are about the same place lore-wise
Both are people she met during her time in OW and presumably spent a lot of time around
Yeah lore wise yes… Both can fly.
But you don’t drop hints like that for years to just disregard them.
Also, it all looks like PR move. Game hated? So lets add more queer representation. Which is just abhorrent to me (as a queer person myself)

Last I recall the devs were memeing on both sides of the Mercy ship wars by saying she was with Hog, but as of canon Mercy has no confirmed previous romantic relationships with characters we know of.
I doubt she’s in her mid 30s with 0 relationship experience, but if she has any and with whom is unknown and wholly speculative.
I’m not much into either big ship, they both have their issues tbh so my horse is non-existent.

If it’s not gay, it’s not important.
For me, it’s not the ship so much as it is Pharah herself. They made good strides with her personality in OW2, but she still feels incomplete to me. I struggle to imagine anyone dating her when I don’t really see her as a fully fledged character yet. Just my opinion anyway.

I agree although funnily enough I think her crush on Mercy has given her more personality than she’s ever had because she seems like a bit of an awkward anxious introvert who has trouble expressing feelings lol which is better than just being dry for no reason

She could always be Ace… And that actually would make more sense than pharah now imo, looking at her lore with Genji!

Agreed entirely with this. As a queer person myself, I really dislike it when they do it for the PR or because the large majority of the community is pushing for it. Especially if Mercy truly did have a significant relationship with Genji. Makes no damn sense.
Everyone assumes Mercy dumped Genji but maybe it was the other way around. Maybe she was mada mada (not good enough) for him.
